The convent is taking place in a small town called Borås which is situated about 60 km east of Gothenburg.

Rules & form of game:
All none trial rules valid at the time, no trial lists, some scenarios and convent rules may appear, 2000p armies.

If this sounds interesting, please let us know by posting here and we will fill in the details for you.

Best regards / Nemo & ola

Now if only this wasn't the weekend of my daughter's 3rd birthday party.... :-[

Bring her! There will be plenty of small funny figurines to play with. On the other tables (WFB+40K)
Maybe not.
To bad you can not make it. Next time.

So long as its not on the weekend following the 28th of October, or the weekend of the WMA campaign at WHW then yes, I may very well be able to make it next year....

BSK is always on the Halloween weekend. Which normally is the closest weekend to the shift from oct to nov.
Stomm, do you live in Sweden? Where?
Title: Re: [WM] Tournament Swedish Mastership
Post by: Stomm on September 29, 2009, 09:00:51 AM
Ah, if its always the Halloween weekend then I'm unlikely to ever be able to make it, unless the 28th falls on the Saturday or Sunday I guess... The importance of the 28th of course being that it's my eldest daughter's birthday, the one this year being her 3rd...

As to living in Sweden, I'm afraid not, I live in London. But there are almost always cheap flights over to Scandinavia from Stanstead or Luton, both of which are just over 1/2 hour's drive away, and I've always fancied re-visiting Sweden after spending a day playing Warmaster in Malmo and then driving down to BoZ with three Swedes, including Tommy M, IIRC Sebastian something-or-other, and time has temporarily robbed my mind of the memory of the third guy's name. IIRC his online handle was 'Lictor' though...

Alright.
You are welcome when the right occation appears.
TommyM? I know him. He is a good player, but mostly into Mordheim and Lustria(?) these days. Met him on last GothCon, this years Eastern.

Post by: Stomm on October 01, 2009, 11:37:40 AM
Yup, they were all Mordheim or Warhammer players. I just did the trip to enable some more guys to make it to the Euro GT (they only had one driver for the 13hr drive...), and for the trip itself. Actually now I think I remember that the guy who wasn't Tommy M or Sebastian (who IIRC is/was known online as Lictor) was called Magnus. I'm sure a trawl of old Euro GT records will turn up their names, or Lex could probably better remember than I can. I've gone back to university, got a degree, got married, bought a house, ripped said house apart inside, extended and renovated it and had two kids since then, so my memory has become, well a bit bad really. Sleep deprivation will do that to a person...

So it´s a new year and a new go at WMSM.

It has been announced at a national/semi-international facebook page, but it should be mentioned here aswell.

The contestors are, so far:
Staffan Army X
Joel Army VC(?)
Nemo Army Undead
Ola Army HE

Alex (on this forum) glanced this way, but got held up by "local weather". ;)

Results

Staffan OnG 5580p
Joel VC 6677,5p
Nemo TK 7442,5p
Ola HE 10900p

As we only were 4 players, there were only 3 games played each.

Scenarios
1 Sunset Bash - LoS 10 x (6 - Turn + D3) cm, roll at start of new turn, lasts entire turn. Deployment: Alternating Brigades
2 Dawn Attack - LoS 10 x (Turn x 2 + D3) cm, roll at start of new turn, lasts entire turn. Deployment: Hidden
3 Midday Engagement - "Loong-wise" table, middle line as a "football field". Deployment: Alternating Brigades

Optional: Thunder&Rain, if D6 roll equals number of turn, all units are at half pace, roll at start of new turn, lasts entire turn. We added this to scenario 3.

The Fluff
1. After days of searching for a suitable battlefield, the scouts one late afternoon report enemy is sighted nearby. Also information about battlefield terrain is reported. Both armies start deploy simultaneous and the General with the most discipline (most terror-causing voice) gets the upper-hand on whereto begin advancing or letting the enemy advance. As combat starts, the day-light gets murkier and murkier and before the Sunset Bash ends, the day has turned in to night...
2.  ... to be continued...

Points are calculated as:
Points taken (kills) + Points still on table (killed) + Break-bonus (depending on turn) + Win/Draw-bonus

Agree.
Historically i think OnG, DE, Empire, HE and Chaos has taken the title, so yes it may very well be time for another army next year.
My contribute will be changing HE for Daemonic Legion.  :D

So it´s another new year and another new go at WMSM.  ;)

It has been announced at a national/semi-international facebook page, but it should be mentioned here aswell.

The contestants are, so far:
Joel - VC
Nemo - DE
Kristoffer - DE
Ola - Daemons
Martin - OnG
Johan - Skaven

Battle conditions will be a mix of last years. Both daylight and weather conditions will have effect.
On top of that an ongoing scenario that will take place in every battle. (yet to be developed)

Title: Re: [WM] Tournament Swedish Mastership
Post by: wmchaos2000 on October 29, 2013, 05:13:16 PM
Battle conditions are:
Turn  Condition
1-2    Fog of Dawn, LoS is limited to (Turnx2+D3)x10cm.
3-4    Thunder and Rain, on a roll of D6=Turn, all normal movement* is halved (not Half Pace).
5-6    Sunset, LoS and charge distance is limited to (6-Turn+D3)x10cm
Rolls are made at the start of each full turn.

*normal movement = all movement in Order/Movement-phase.

Scenario: Officers Guard
All characters have their own "home"-unit, which bears the characters colours.
At the start of each battle, nominate one unit for each character to be his/hers guard-unit.
Make a mark of which one each has to keep track.
Enemy Officers Guard Killed: 50p
Own Officers Guard Survived: 50p

Commanding Generals are:
Joel - VC
Nemo - DE
Kristoffer - DE
Ola S - Daemons
Martin - OnG
Jesper - Brettonia/Kislev
Emil - Empire
Ola P - Chaos/HE

May the best daemon win!  ;)

From April 2014 RyanAir will operate cheap flights from Edinburgh to Gothenburg.

1) When is your 2014 event?
2) Would you be open to non Swedish players possibly taking part?
(My Swedish is limited to "please", "thank you" and "Can I have 2 beers please?")

I am willing to learn Swedish for:  "3 attacks", "+1 for charging", "+1 following up" and "+1 for every 3cm".

Now all I need to find are some customers in Gothenburg to justify a trip across.   :)
I've been before.

I'm not an arranger but I'm pretty sure that I speak for all of us here when I say that you'd be more than welcome to partake. Based on previous years I suppose the event will take place 31 Oct. to 2 Nov.

We're all capable of speaking English (there isn't a Swedish translation of the rules after all) but I'll happily assist any iniative to learn Swedish:

"Tre attacker", "plus ett för charge", "plus ett för att förfölja" and "plus ett per tre centimeter". Yes, we speak a lot of Swenglish when playing the game, hence the 'charge' rather 'stormningen'. :) You may have to look up pronunciation depending on your previous experience with the Swedish alphabet. A quick rule to remember would be that double consonants always follow a short vowel.

Hello!

1. Halloween weekend, 31/10-2/11. (sneak-start on 30/10)
2. We are open for non-swedes to participate. Can´t guarantee that we will let you leave the country with the Champ-trophy though. ;)

Details
Latest version of the rulebook. Some house-rules, firstly regarding charging. Scenarios that aim for realistic battle-field conditions, rain, light and so on. 2000p armys. Unpainted is welcome, but painted warriors fight better. There may be some sort of seeded who-meets-who system.

Hum hum, yep that´s about it. Please feel free to ask more.

Oh, yes, we use a developed point-system to calculate who is the winner and how much tournament points that gives. :)

Cheers!

In general and historically we have not accepted Trial armys.
Only the armies from Armybook 2009(?) and the two tournament lists.
To make a fair call on this one, I would like to ask the other swedes that plan to partcipate.
Over to semi swe/eng FB-group.

It is a small town and the event usually takes place in a school 10-15min walk from anywhere in central town.

The link below is in swedish, but you can get a picture of costs from it, in Skr.

18-19-ish.
When everyone has arrived, usually, so there is no need to hurry.
1 game on friday, 2-3 games on saturday and max 1 game on sunday.
We run it as a course of games where the winner is the one that gathers the most points in total. No elimination.

Hi,

Within the link you mentioned 3 participants until now. I don't think this is correct. We should be 3 from Germany if the pilots of Lufthansa doesn't go on strike. We arrive Friday and will go home Monday morning. How many players from Sweden join?

I can play Skaven, Bretonnia, Araby, Empire, Chaos, Dwarves.
Which armies are confirmed until now to avoid playing the same army against. Have seen Skaven, so will leave my rats in the underworld... waiting for some dwarves for dinner....

Cheers,
Jürgen

Not quite.

Participants (in order of applying)
1. Jürgen (not Skaven)
2. Helge (OnG)
3. Patrik (VC)
4. Kristoffer (Skaven)
5. Ola P (Chaos)
6. Emil (Empire/Dwarfs?)
7. Jesper (Kislev?)
8. Ola S (Chaos)

Recent year participants that haven´t applied yet: Staffan, Joel, Martin and my wingman Nemo. :)

Feel free to pick the army you prefer.
But since you asked, Araby has never been fielded during the Swe Masters.  ;)

So, tournament over.
The cup stayed in sweden and the holder of it promises never to play with the same army (HE) in this tournament again. ;)
Results and such will be up soon.
Meanwhile, i would like to thank all participants that made this such a great tournamnet. :)
As a followup, please take a few minutes and write what your thoughts are about it. Pros and cons.

Post note, we will test the german (european?) rules on friday.  :D
