I have always wanted an Eldar squadron for Aeronautica Imperialis. I was on the Forgeworld site trying to buy one the day or two before they announced that the Specialist Games were dead. Bad news, no Eldar air wing. Good news, I got to keep my money.
After self-sculpting my own Orks, Tau, Imperial PDF, Chaos forces, Dark Eldar, and Tyranids I finally decided to give the elusive Eldar a go. Here is the result so far....

I self-sculpted 4 Phoenix bombers and 1 Nightshade fighter. These are made using garden variety Sculpey, some dental tools, clay shapers, files, and a paper template or two. I create them in layers and bake as to harden them.
I started with the versatile Phoenix Bomber because when armed with Starcannons, they can be pretty good fighters too. It is hard to pass up such versatility. Next up, I want to try some Nightwings for some more options and dedicated interceptors/fighters.

Very nice work. I like the Crimson Hunter- I've never seen anyone make a small version of them.

Great work!

Nightwings

I was really nervous about these guys. I had some setbacks putting together the main wing design and this is about my third attempt at it. I'm pretty happy how they turned out, but I would like the divide between the forward swept wing and the rear wing to be a bit more noticeable or pronounced. However, I am pretty happy with how they turned out as Eldar aircraft are not easy to make.
Ghost Spirit Fighters

The rules for the Ghost are in the Grex Silex campaign booklet and the Airspace Compilation 3.1.
I really enjoyed putting together the Ghost spirit fighter. I wanted it to blend elements of all the currently known Eldar aircraft to look suitably Eldar. Therefore, I used a template for the Night Shade body, added the Nigthwing/Phoenix forked front, and used a tail piece similar to the Hemlock. I also wanted it to look like it was an unmanned drone so added the air intake along the top instead of a cockpit leading straight back into the engine nozzle. I liked how it came out.
The Corsair Sky Host

Here is where the Skyhost currently stands. I think I will try to slap some paint on these. Hopefully, they will get a test run soon.

I think they need a light black wash, and the front edge of the Nightwings' wings need some work. I am also thinking about painting the weapon pods bronze.
What do you think?
