Title: KR Multicase or other Storage options?
Post by: Optics1984 on November 01, 2015, 10:15:46 PM
Hi All,

I was just wondering what was the best case to store a fleet. What do you use?

I know KR do really good storage options but any in particular that people recommend?

If not KR then what else would people recommend.

I am currently storing them in bubble wrap and plastic cases but this has slowly resulted in damage.

I have a large Imperial Fleet, a small necron, ork and eldar fleet and an expanding chaos fleet. So thoughts on this would be good.

Thanks All

I like Battle Foam.  They're one of the pricier options, but I have several bags and I like the quality and durability.  Plus, they have occasional sales, especially over 4th of July.

Thanks mate. I have had a look at the Battle Foam website and they look pretty reasonable.

Any in particular that you would reccomend?

It really depends on your fleet sizes.  One thing I would suggest is pluck foam rather than troop trays.  Unless you are going to use their custom cut tool (I never have, if you do I would be interested in the design), pluck is the best way to make the shapes you need for BFG.  And it's cheaper too, which is nice.

+1 to that...I'm a fan myself! I would recommend waiting for their Black Friday sale in a few weeks. BF typically has some pretty deep discounts (up to 40% or more on some items) for Black Friday.

Oh ok, will keep an eye out for the Black Friday sales then. Thanks

I have a huge Imperial fleet (talking 15 cruisers, 4 battleships, 2 grand cruisers, 3 light crusiers and I dont know how many escorts). I wouldnt find that a problem but I also have Eldar, Space Marine, Ork, Necron and Chaos fleets to look after too. Yep, I am a little in love with this game and never sold any of my ships from back in the day.

So bubble wrap and plastic boxes just arent doing the models justice. Especially with the painted models.

I've bee using these for years:

I have all my BFG fleets and Several B5 fleets stored in them. Cheap and work well.

Plano Stowaway trays. Specifically for BFG, I use the deep ones like this: http://tinyurl.com/j3d4wew.

I am planning on switching to an open case with no dividers like: http://tinyurl.com/jr4anq8. Add a magnetic sheet in the bottom. All my ships already have metal washers on the bottom for better balance and feel.
