Title: [BFG] Rise of The Unchained (Chaos)

Hello ladies and gentlemen

Long time lurker here

This week I made the decision to finally unbox the lead ive gathered this year and make my first BFG fleet.
Chaos has always appealed to me, as it follows after my now gone 40K army.

The theme of this fleet is chaos united, with ships drawn from many of the traitor legions and renegades.

First up is the Escort squadrons I have painted up this week to shake off the cobwebs and get to back to painting.
Tge stands need touching up after multiple breakages and repairs while painting (grrr)
Sorry for the poor quality of the photos, I have not got a dedicated camera.

On the to do list:
 
-9 cruisers to paint
-4 cruisers to assemble and paint
-1 demon cruiser to convert and paint
-2 battleships to assemble and paint
-1 strike cruiser to chaosify and paint
-1 pre-heresy strike cruiser and grand cruiser to assemble and paint ( from shapeways)

With more ships incoming from far and wide (including a fantastic imperial fleet courtesy of member achmell)

This will be a long running project as I spend a considerable amount of time at on a ship sailing the seas.

Update:

11 Cruisers came out of the warp (ebay) to join my lead pile, bumping the tally to 24 Cruisers to paint on my to do list.
With an extra 10 cruisers and 2 battleships arriving tommorow (courtesy of Donaberger Attila from the BFG facebook group) it will be a fleet to ravage sub sectors in one fell swoop (I hope).

Tonight though I've painted up my first 3 Cruisers to go to battle!, these are part of the Black Legion complement which will be joined by a Styx and Despoiler later now that I have the technique nailed down.

Next up Iron Warriors, who will be the mainstay of the fleet under Warsmith Sarteth 'The Unchained'.

I know next to nothing about BFG, but those ships look very pretty!  I love the gold trim.  I'd like to play Twilight Imperium with those for my ships! :D

Update:
Alas my time to paint has ended, this thread will be updated in two months when i get back onto dry land, hopefully it won't count as threadomancy.

Keep painting everyone, I'm in awe of the skill I see.

30+ cruisers? with ships going for more than twice their original cost i never thought i would see a fleet that could take mine (http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/topic/313654-bfg-battle-fleet-eschataris/) on, yours would give it a good run :)
will keep an eye out in February for your return to painting what looks to end up being as you say "a fleet to ravage sub sectors in one fell swoop"
