Hello! Brand new to the forum, but very excited to find it.
I am a long time player of Warhammer Fantasy, but I haven't actually played much since the beginning of 7th Edition. Regardless I was still sad to see the destruction of the Old World. Recently I have wanted to get back into the hobby, and after a random purchase of the Warmaster Rulebook, I realized I had been playing the wrong game the whole time.
So for the last couple months I have been cursing eBay's warmaster prices, and buying stuff from Pendraken to create a proxy army. I've gotten a few units done so far, I'd love to know what people think.
Here are my Knights, from the Pendraken range, with some green stuff additions:

Here is my steam tank, from a Pendraken Renault FT:

I hope you enjoy them, I'll post the rest of the army soon. (Just Pistoliers and Flagellants thus far)
-
They look nice. How do you plan to use the square bases? Just keep the front and back rows together?
-
That was the original plan, but actually I ended up switching them to 20mm x 40mm. These pictures are a little out of date now. I thought I would maybe try mini Warhammer fantasy, and use 20mm square bases. But now I've fully converted to Warmaster, so no reason not to use the 20 x 40.
-
Nice! :)
-
Very nice indeed Tiberius. I particularly like the converted FT-17, the track marks behind it are a nice touch.
-
Nice work there.
Really like the steam tank conversion!
-
Good stuff! Prompted me to dig out some of my unloved blisters for Empire.
-
Thanks gentlemen! The steam tank was a lot of fun. Turned out better than I hoped, also glad you noticed the tank tracks andys!
-
Here are my Pistoliers, made with Pendraken's ECW cavalry. Pretty much just added green stuff feathers, and a cape on the champion.

-
Pistoliers are superb. The feather is a smart touch to enter in WH mood
-
Great stuff, blue and white are fave colours for this kind of model.
-
Thanks all!
Stormwind, I agree, white and blue look excellent together. A long time ago I accidently highlighted some regal blue with hawk turquoise. I loved the look and made it the theme of my Warhammer army. So now I'm trying to carry it over to my Warmaster one.
Here are my Flagellants! Made with Pendraken medieval monks.

I used a lot of green stuff and jewelry chain. I'm pretty happy with the results! Here are what the original two poses in the set look like:
(http://i1379.photobucket.com/albums/ah136/clericclausen/Mobile%20Uploads/image_zpszyjol0sh.jpeg) (http://s1379.photobucket.com/user/clericclausen/media/Mobile%20Uploads/image_zpszyjol0sh.jpeg.html)
-
Those flagellant are superb. Congrat.
Ho do you do the chain? it is great.
you're empire army looks great indeed!
-
Thank you! The chains were from very fine jewelry chain of a necklace. I had to set it in super glue to keep it rigid.
-
That is smart!
-
That's a great modelling idea with the Flagellents! What else do you have in the pipeline for us?
-
Thank you both! The chain idea was actually Ithoriel's from the Pendraken forum, though I think he's on this forum too.
I just finished my General today. He also took some converting. Here he is before painting.
(http://i1379.photobucket.com/albums/ah136/clericclausen/Mobile%20Uploads/image_zpszx7x2fkl.jpeg) (http://s1379.photobucket.com/user/clericclausen/media/Mobile%20Uploads/image_zpszx7x2fkl.jpeg.html)
I replaced the hammer that was formerly on his shoulder with sword, took off the feather on this helmet for a wreath, and then added the cloaks and capes to him and his entourage.
(http://i1379.photobucket.com/albums/ah136/clericclausen/Mobile%20Uploads/image_zps5cmd6zja.jpeg) (http://s1379.photobucket.com/user/clericclausen/media/Mobile%20Uploads/image_zps5cmd6zja.jpeg.html)
I was a little hesitant to try white armor, that is totally new for me, but I love the results!

I still need to figure out a good ornament for the top. Maybe once my collection of 10mm figures grows I can find something.
-
That character rocks! I see some pikmen in the background :)
For the helmet some cool elements that are affordable to do with greenstuf is:
-a Tower
-a couple of wings https://alexhmuseum.wikispaces.com/Middle+Ages+Artifacts
- a bird in a jail :) http://www.metmuseum.org/toah/works-of-art/22.229 (that is difficult)
-a couple of fishes https://www.pinterest.com/pin/513410426242681643/
To find examples of Empire helmet ornaments the keywords for googling it are Tournament knight 15 16 century
hope you will find inspiration
-
Good stuff all around!
-
Yeah, nice character. I like the standard. Simple but beautifull.
-
This is an awesome resource for anybody considering a proxy army. Good stuff all around!
-
Alright, forgive me everyone, but this next part is not a proxy! I was able to get these Empire cannons for a decently reasonable price, so I went for it.

Not as exciting I know. But it is fun to have my first GW models. Next thing up will be some converted Scots short pikemen to Empire Spearman.
-
Well it's definitely good saying any lead painted up in the light of day. =)
-
Looking good!
have you got opponent? or painting for pleasure?
-
Really nice painting job. You could add a third colour by painting the carriage or something, but it's nice like that too.
-

Just one opponent, and we are still just painting and working on our armies. We haven't played a game yet! Just studying the rules and dreaming so far. He has the starter set of Tomb Kings.

Any particular colors in mind? I'm not sure which one would work well. Maybe yellow? Though I'm not sure a yellow carriage would look great.

Here is my next update.
Some Stalwart Imperial Spearmen!
(http://i1379.photobucket.com/albums/ah136/clericclausen/Mobile%20Uploads/image_zpswfy9seo1.jpeg) (http://s1379.photobucket.com/user/clericclausen/media/Mobile%20Uploads/image_zpswfy9seo1.jpeg.html)
I used the Flodden Scots short pikemen. I added some spear tuffs, some feathers, and also I attempted some puffy sleeves.
(http://i1379.photobucket.com/albums/ah136/clericclausen/Mobile%20Uploads/image_zpsooe1pgpl.jpeg) (http://s1379.photobucket.com/user/clericclausen/media/Mobile%20Uploads/image_zpsooe1pgpl.jpeg.html)

-
Looking good. =)
-
Sleeves work very good! nice work.
Defenitively the inclusion of the feather gives a really GW Empire look.
-
What they just said. Good choice + good conversion.
-
Yikes, it's been awhile since I posted. I got a warning that's it's been 120 days. Oops!
It has been awhile, real life and other hobbies have gotten in the way. But I finally got one more stand of troops out! This one is with more converted pandraken miniatures, and then with the warmonger zweihander command (and a random dude for champion). They fit together really well! Though the champion does seem just a touch short.

Just trying to keep up with my May goals. Not sure 6 skirmishers is enough for one stand, but overall I am pretty happy. Now on to some crossbowmen.
(http://i1379.photobucket.com/albums/ah136/clericclausen/Mobile%20Uploads/2BDE357A-909E-4960-966C-332AEC3B9A4A_zpsvftawl4f.jpg) (http://s1379.photobucket.com/user/clericclausen/media/Mobile%20Uploads/2BDE357A-909E-4960-966C-332AEC3B9A4A_zpsvftawl4f.jpg.html)
-
Yep, for me 6 guys is natural in a stand. Good work!
-
Nice Greatswords.
-
yeah, i agree, it will be a very nice army when finished ! Keep on going !
-
Two stands of crossbowmen done! Just have to force myself for the last stand. I love the sculpts. Very beautiful.

Those Xbowmen rocks! good work Tiberius

Posted this also in the June Warmaster painters, but here is the new centerpiece for the army, even if it isn't actually a proxy...

GW Halberdiers next.
-
Really like the black armour effect you has obtained.
-
Those Warmonger crossbows have come out really well.
-
Oh man they look even better in that army shot all together. =)
-
I like the treatment of the armour too. Nice !
-
One of the best Hero on Griffon I've ever seen.
I'm a little jealous that you have a real one - I'm using a Ral Patha griffin and sawing up some guys to make mine!
-
Thanks gents! It was a lot of fun to paint. I think heroes in 10mm have become my favorite thing to paint. They don't take too long, like 28mm heroes, which I could spend days and days on and are often gigantic, and they are individuals, so I can spend a lot of time on them without feeling stressed that I have 29 more just like them to paint as well.
Rowlybot: I waited on eBay for a long time to find it. I think I ended up getting it for around 20 with shipping about 5 or 6 months ago. Since then I have seen them go less for that several times since, though not in the last month or two. You could probably still find one before too long!

Cant help you with the price though...
-
Admittedly I could just pay the near £30 to get a 'proper' one. But I just spent about £85 on 4 units of knights so this month's budget is used hah.
(And the photo of the blister is depressing - £4 originally, now 7 times the price.)

It's been ages since I last posted an update. But I have gotten married, moved, and started a new job in the last 4 months!
Thankfully in our new place I have a tiny little space to use as my workshop, and I've been able to get a bit done. I finally finished my first 1,000 points for a warmaster army, which I am very excited about.
Here it is in all it's glory.
(http://i1379.photobucket.com/albums/ah136/clericclausen/Mobile%20Uploads/6CE7B570-0F27-4B73-BE85-442AE20BB153_zpse6ytkc5e.jpg) (http://s1379.photobucket.com/user/clericclausen/media/Mobile%20Uploads/6CE7B570-0F27-4B73-BE85-442AE20BB153_zpse6ytkc5e.jpg.html)
I'm pretty happy with how well my Pendraken spearman match up with my GW halberdiers. The spearman may be every so slightly larger, but it's not really perceptable.
(http://i1379.photobucket.com/albums/ah136/clericclausen/Mobile%20Uploads/D182F1DA-1104-4FF8-8926-D6CBF8F6E798_zpsiy8jnlcz.jpg) (http://s1379.photobucket.com/user/clericclausen/media/Mobile%20Uploads/D182F1DA-1104-4FF8-8926-D6CBF8F6E798_zpsiy8jnlcz.jpg.html)
Lastly I started my first unit of a new army, a hero for Chaos. This is one of Yann's sculpts. The only problem I have, is that the rider is very small compared to my GW units. I may just not use him, because he doesn't look very formitable as an Lord of Chaos. He would be great with BoFA stuff though.

Tiberius, congrats on everything that has transpired over 2016 for you. Hope you can find some opponents and play a ton of games with that Empire army!
-
Yes congratulations, 2016 sees like a good year!
now for the chaos ;D
-
Great army. I particularly like your flagellents and spearmen - the size difference isn't noticeable at all.
The chaos dragon has a thuggish, brutal look about it.
-
Great stuff!
-
Beautiful. Great work.
-
Very lovely looking army, all the different units look like they work together very well regardless of manufacturer.
In regards to the diminutive Chaos Lord....... perhaps he's a Halfling Chaos Lord? Or a particularly evil child (a bit like the drug running kid in Robocop 2) Chaos Lord? With Chaos I guess you could get away with anything!
Great painting on the beast.
-
It has been a very long time. After being distracted by Star Wars Armada, and then 40k, I finally started some Warmster hobbying again.
I've posted some to Facebook, but thought I should share it will my old friends here.
My most recent empire project was making a Warmaster size ship.
This happened for 2 reasons. 1: I bought an old copy of The General's Compendium (which is just a fantastic book). And their warhammer ships inspired me. 2. I had an old Uncharted Seas ship that I found for 1 dollar, and I thought it could possibly be converted.
Touch ups, crew and rigging to come.
-
Errm, the photos are HUUUUUGGGEEEE!
Can you resize them please?
-
I was hoping that was just my browser. I’ll get to work on it. Don’t what happened to photobucket, I just did what I always did before!
-
There we are, much better.
-
Yep and a nice model as well ;D
-
Very nice work on the ship!
