Title: Kyussinchains' Warmaster projects
Post by: kyussinchains on December 21, 2015, 09:07:18 AM
So finally, I laid brush to model last night, having never painted a warmaster model before, it's still heavily WIP but I'm pleased with how its turning out, its table ready now so I'll go back to it after I get my other DE reinforcements ready :)

Neat! My first ever Warmaster miniatures were a stand of DE spearmen.

Nice! If it were my figure, I'd paint the mane a lighter colour than the body, just to bling it up a bit.
Welcome to Warmaster!!!!

Awesome. He looks like he's going to give someone a big hug.

Very nice!! He'll make a great centrepiece to your army

Cold One Riders are fairly straight forward to paint

Thanks everyone :)

I'm going for the quick drybrush method with the cold ones, prime black, drybrush lizards white then inkwash turquoise/green, it looks reasonable on the first few stands so far :)

Having come from 6mm scale I have to say I like the larger size of the models, although that does make mistakes more obvious ;)

Wicked!

I spy some Fists in the back there, as if you didn't have enough already. =P

Nice!  I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of your army.  Dark Elf models are a little hard to come by aren't they?

It looks great. What else do you plan to add to the army?

I'm lucky insofar as I bought a fully painted 2k army a couple of years back, it was a bit light on the knights (2 units) so I'm adding four more units as well as another bolt thrower unit

Like the look of that character.  Let's hope he doesn't fall foul of your recurring do-I-execute-him-for-blundering difficulty!

First roll of the game most likely....

Four units of cold ones awaiting basing, these guys are tabletop standard and could do with a bright silver drybrush but will do for now :)

Ah, the most hated Warmaster unit in Sweden. :) Good painting!

Thanks guys :)

The colour on the cold ones was super easy, prime black, drybrush white, ink in P3 green ink!

They could do with a lot more work, teeth and scales painting etc but they'll do for now

Very nice painting. I have 9 of those units, they are great  ;D

If you get more have you considered a different for the Cold Ones?
I painted some of mine grey, they look good. Just makes each unit easier to distinguish

my old Dark Elf WFB army had all kinds of colours, greens, reds oranges and I had a big unit of them black with red spines, if I wasn't going for pure speed I'd definitely try something out, thinking of going for a mottled jungle lizard look on some of them

I have one more unit, but it's 3 dark elf chariots as counts-as cold ones

doubt I'll hunt down any more after that I think 7 is enough! ;)

Yeah, I've got six and never found use for more. The vast majority of games I play are at 2k so it's the maximum anyway.

Like evryone here i like the colour. But maybe some more variations would be great if you paint some more in the future.

That's a great technique apparently, those things look great!

"I'm all set to go eviscerate some dwarfs on wednesday".  Excellent.  The power of positive thinking ...

Nice ! But i would have added more dark elves witches on board. Or nearby on the futur base.

Or i should have said that earlier, but why not a witch inside the cauldron, bathing ?

I'm afraid I don't have any spare witch elf models to do that, or I would have.... ;D

As to an elf bathing, same story, I kinda like it slopping over the edge like it does at the moment ;)
