Title: A few good Questions
Post by: cjbennett22 on March 06, 2016, 03:11:17 AM
first, a confused unit was attacked and won in combat.  Can the confused and victorious unit fallback after combat?

secondly, refer to the 2 pics.  We had a confusion of an attack.  My opponent thought that corner to corner is the most legal charge.  I thought it was center to center first in which the center front to center side would work.  Which is correct?

Thank you for your help!

1. yes
2. 2nd picture is correct by default rules (1st picture could be correct by optional rules of zonal charges but IIRC the corner-to-corner contact is not enough, so it is illegal)

As I understood the rules of warmaster is better to avoid corner to corner if it is other possibility.

Corner to corner is only the last possibility.

1. Yes. The only constraint is that the confused unit keeps its -1 attack modifier,
2. Corner-to-corner is not sufficient for declaring charge. There has to be an edge-to-edge contact. 2nd picture is the correct option following both, the standard rules and Rick Priesley's Trial Rules for Charge.

Confirm the second picture. You need to make edge to edge contact on a charge. The first stand that moved in is required to make edge to edge contact. The Others have to allign also to maximize frontage. Only in the case where this isn't possible (cavalry charging a single unit in the flank for example) is it allowed for these to just make corner to corner contact.

Just an addition - you can possition the first charging unit on the picture in such way only if the stand in support position doesn't have enough movement to get into contact with the enemy unit as you always have to form a battle line if possible.

the first three stands are in their position because of movement.  The third stand did not have enough to get all the way over there.

Thank you everyone for your help!

I was actually just reminded of the third question.
its in the image I attached, its a bit of a stickler question on maximizing the frontage during a charge and just wanted to check in while i was at it but couldn't for the life of me remember this when i got home after the game.
