Title: Goblin Wolf Riders?
Post by: mdivancic on April 07, 2016, 02:15:36 AM
How are people basing the GW Goblin Wold Riders? It looks like GW wanted six figure on the base, but I could see that three would work, though a little light on figures.

I'm painting them on popsicle sticks so I can see what they look like mounted on the base painted. Normally I would base and paint, but that's way to much figure density and I can't tell if I like six to a base yet.

I usually so 4 cav per stand. Pretty sure Matt did 3 per for his gobos.

Yeah, I did three/base. It works for the light cav/irregular horde look, plus you can make more bases that way (I think you can get 4 units out of three packs)

Thanks guys. Actually the pack I got had six strips of three figures. That's two full units of three per base.

I went with 3 to a base for the wolf riders, I think it looks good for them.

As you say you get 2 for 1 this way! There are loads of figures in a pack.

I also use 3 per base. This looks way better for light cavalry in opinion.

The way I have based mine is to do 4 figures on the central command stand and 3 figures on the outer two stands. This gives the appearance of a 'swarm' with a denser central bit and the numbers bleeding out towards the edges. The only down side of this is that it isn't an exact 1 blister becomes 2 deal then.
