Title: Mordheim Dwarf Band using GW LotR Dwarves
Post by: Thinking Stone on April 16, 2016, 04:46:35 PM
Hello everyone!

A while ago, I had an idea to make a Dwarf Treasure Hunters warband using the (at least in my humble opinion!) excellent Perry and Co. dwarves from the GW Lord of the Rings/Hobbit Strategy Battle Game Dwarf ranges. I think they really stand out as an excellent interpretation of the fantasy dwarf whilst keeping the realism of the LotR SBG ranges.

The only trouble is Warhammer Dwarfs have guns but LotR Dwarves don't! (Some silly nonsense about Tolkien's world being set in an equivalent to Dark Age Europe :P).

So, my question is: where can suitable firearms in the historical 25/28 mm scale be found? Some suggestions I've come up with are cannibalising Perry Brothers historical guns (for plastic options) or The Assault Group for metal guns that come unattached.

Perhaps others know of other alternatives? Ideally, I'd prefer something like the The Assault Group option but in hard polystyrene type plastic to use plastic glue with.

Thank you for any assistance you can offer!

The Perry European Mercenaries sprue does come with quite slender, short looking handgungs, but even though the LOTR plastics are no where near as exaggerated ("heroic") as the Warhammer ones, I'd be worried that they are still too small to fit them...
