Missed the cut last time
-
This is the start. As is evidenced in the photo I probably won't be threatening the painting comps but I made this myself and I like it. The 28mm nurgle army is big but I've fallen for the wee blokes so i'll update this when I've got something more to show. Chariots look a fun project, any ideas where to buy wheels as they're tricky?
-
If you can determine the type you want, Pendraken are usually very helpful when it comes to odds and ends.
-
Very characterful and suitably rotten! I'm always keeping an eye out for potentially useful bits and bobs, these n-scale cartwheels are on eBay but seem pretty pricy and they're not all the same:

Best alternative would be simple pressmoulds I guess.
-
Good call Grumbledook, I had not seen those before!
Great priest, trousers, is he scratch built?
-
Thanks for replies all. I'll have a crack at some myself first but there's quite a few options at Pendraken if mine are utter rubbish.
Matey sorcerer is scratch built. I had a grand ambition to scratch build a chaos army but it wasn't long I realised I've have to be an absolute eejit to attempt it.
-
Very nicely sculpted and painted :) looking forward to more stuff you might be working on ^_^

-
Heh, well Chaos is a relatively common army and there are some proxies available so I'd say not to stress yourself out. =D
-
Scratch built Spawn of Nurgle :
-
First unit of hounds: I think they might get rejigged and another rider put in there now that I've done them. Dogs are Pendraken small aliens and looking at the photo now they're all a wee bit samey. I've never been a fan of uniform Chaos armies. I like them with a few random tentacles and odd figures.
-
Dragon Ogres:
-
I'm on vacation for a few weeks now. Hopefully next post will be a few chariots with a nurglish flavour. Also doing a shrine which looks kind of daft and sinister at the same time. Here's a shot of the general but it's not great.
-
wow really interesting miniatures. I like the look of all of those!
Good work!
-
They look delightfully gribbly!
-
Yeah ! i love them all ! You did them very well !
-
A bit of heavy cav
-
Shrine of Nurgle - well one the lesser nurglish gods from a bag of cuthulu.
-
A few more shots. The 'god' is from a bag of cuthulu, the tentacled tombstone is from Avatars corrupters, wheels are a pencil rubber chopped into slithers. The bloke pushing it is largely scratch built and I've crammed as many things into that base as I could fit. A few of these are scratch built
-
Delightfully disgusting! <3
-
I have this cthulhu but in a bigger size ! Very well thought. I love this altar very much :)
-
Brilliant! Love the brute that's pushing the eldritch horror along.
-
What a great, characterful army!
I notice you're in London - do you get much chance to play? Because I'm looking to take my undead out for a (dry, rattling) spin.
-
A bit disappointed how these turn up in the photos. Front rank of scratch built warriors.
Dry_erase - I'm in Ealing, never played the game before but needed something to keep me out of the pub. It'll be a good few months before I get finished this lot but I'll give you a yell.
-
I've got a few more bases of chaos warriors to finish off then I want to have a crack at some chaos trolls. I figure that even with my questionable anatomic proportions I can hardly go wrong given the subject matter. Thanks very much for the encouragement all. Sculpting 10mm is a bit of a learning curve.

Nah.. they're great. Really chaotic and suitably horrific.

I've not played for ages and I'm a confirmed amateur, so don't worry about that. If you fancy it, I can lend you an Empire army to play against my undead while the Nurgle forces are in progress.
-
wow looking powerfull! awesome
-
Really like the grunge look you've got going there!
-
Just about finished the chariots of nurgle. Flag to paint and a final, tidy-up highlight over just about everything.
-
They look suitably unpleasant!
-
Oooh yes, great ! I like when things are not always the same. The different animals are nice.
-
So crazy and chaotic! magnific stuff
-
Not the best photos but here's a couple of HOTT trolls that I've added a few wee bits to. They're pretty big so I did one per base as it seemed to be about right (and I only had 3 variants).
-
I feel a bit bad saying that they are horrible... but they are horrible in the best possible way!
Great project and I'm loving the uniqueness of it. Will there be a full family photo?
P.s. is that a Xenomorph yoked onto a chariot? Very cool.
-
I think the trolls ended up with the requisite amount of gribbliness. They are a touch bigger than I'd like.
The xenomorph is there to keep his smaller cousins company in the hounds units.
There will be a team shot but there's still a few bits to come. Some not terribly inventive marauder cavalry up next.
I need to source a few new oddities. Does anyone know of any decent sized rats? Looking for something roughly the size of a horse. I'll have a trawl...
Thanks for comments all.
-
As before, some great stuff there.
-
I have mixed feelings about these... great models and painting obviously, but they're likely to destroy several units of my skeletons in the near future.
-
I like the blisters... well understood me, please ;)
-
Good stuff!
-
As a lover of Nurgle and Cthulhu, I doubly love your work!

-
Chaotic additions. For a beastmen army this time.
-
Centigors
-
Minotaur units
-
The Bestigor are a mix of Ral Partha Blighthaven blokes and beastmen ogres from Eureka. Added another few various bits as well for variation. Bases incomplete when I took the photo.
Centigor are just standard Eureka blokes but nice models.
Minotaurs are a mix of Eureka, Pendraken and a couple of 15MM blokes from Magister.
I've done up a bunch of gor units but they've got a few bits to finish yet.
-
Neat!
-
Nice. I love the cthulhu icon :)
-
Great looking beasties! How big is the planned herd going to be?
-
About 2000 points worth Grumbler. So they can function as their own outfit or get tossed in with a mammoth game if I ever play one.
The project has stalled a bit as I'm not 1000% happy with the models available for herd kin and I was looking to get them done next. Cricket takes most of Sat so it might be when season finishes I get back into the swing of things.
I'd also like to model up a few spawn as they seem fun. I've got to finish off a unit or
I bought a few units of dragon ogres at a decent price to use as chariot proxies as I didn't fancy making 4 units worth. Not sure I'm fond of options here once again. Might try yo make a beast chariot with a few Copplestone 15mm wolves and see what that looks like.
-
No sure if you saw these over on my thread or not, but I ended up using the orc and goblin chariots with a eureka orge beastman on the back for my chariots. I used orc boar riders' boars with the orc trimmed off as the razorgors, but you can use anything else that you like the look of obviously. Yes I did see your post on the chariots gunslinger. I think you've got the right idea there as they look tops. It's getting a bit tricky sourcing bits at a reasonable price now though but I will keep an eye out. Thing is I want a decent amount of them. I was going to suggest Bel over at Polar Fox for your boars as they're top sculptors and he might be persuaded to sell just the boars.
-
Hmm, that's a good idea. Sounds a lot easier then sawing through 16 more orcs.
