I am finally in sight of having a legal 2000+ points of High Elves all painted.

Two units of spearmen for them is my target.  Beyond that I would love to do something else, but I'm unsure as to whether to go for Dark Elves or undead.

Target - 1 Unit of orcs (they are 60% done, but for some reason I cannot finish this stupid unit!), 1 Unit of Chaos warriors

Stretch Target - 1 Unit of foot Chaos Marauders

Target: 1 Hobgoblin Ger (counts as War Wagon) and 1 unit of Hobgoblin archers.

This will involve quite a bit of conversion - the Ger has been part-completed for about 2 years now. I have wheels, crew and a base of Copplestone wolves to pull it.

The archers are my second such unit, a mixture of Pendraken and TB Line Mongols with a few Copplestone Orc archers. I tend to add hobgoblin faces, caps and the odd hunched back.

Great, most if seen didn't do them justice. Go for it!

I'm off sick so knocked out the 2 galloper gun units yesterday. Going to try for the halfings today.

Using some GW Hellblaster carriages that had had the gun clipped off - I believe EmpireAddict mounted the guns in his War Wagons - I added a short length of plastic-rod for a barrel and two chopped up pieces of plastic tube to form some braces. Braces might be a tad (ie HUGE) oversized but I'm happy with them.

Horses came from EmpireAddict so I've no clue where they came from. Crew are GW Empire artillery men spares.

Nice work on the wolf riders. I've 104 of the little buggers to deal with at some point!

My lord... that is a entire horde of wolves!

I must admit the sculpt is really beautifull, maybe the very best of orc and goblin GW range (in my opnion)

Good stuff!

I'm sadly enough going to fail completing my units due to having much to do at work. At least I got them primed.

Indeed. And parental leave is around the corner, should have a small positive effect on the schedule. :)

Well weirdly, I veered off and pretty much finished a Dark Elf spearman unit!

It's going to be a no-show from me this month I'm afraid. I simply haven't had the time to venture out to the shed.

Nice DEs.  My pledge is painted.  Just need to make time to photograph them!

This is an excellent colour scheme. I'm colour blind so I'm not sure whether I see it like everyone else, but that deep green seems appropriately sinister and striking for Dark Elves.

Thanks!

I energised myself to start the DE a while back through some of the new GW paints. A lot of the new GW paints are a disappointment but there's some there which are a really unique tone and make you imagine new projects to do!

The ones that I think were pretty much made purely for painting Dark Elves I all bought:

Incubi Darkness as a basecoat
Kabalite Green as a layer
Sybarite Green... I intended this as a highlight but it's brighter than I wanted so I went for Vallejo Jade Green which is a bit subtler as the brighter colour.

They are also washed with the new shade "Coelia Greenshade".  I wanted both my High Elves and Dark Elves to look a bit inhuman and otherworldly.  If my Dark Elves look like they've marched out of the sea, all the better. ;-P

I only finished two orcs stands because there were only 5 stands in my GW package of Orcs, I was pretty annoyed.  I ordered some orcs from polar fox to fill out the unit (they threw in an extra one for me).

I didn't get what I wanted done last month, but hoping to be able to say that I have /finished/ some things in December.

Yep is all positive: new computer (now total war warhammer runs...), new son on the way and promotion in the company so it means new job/functions and more responsability.

To sum up I am moving from my comfort zone to the unconfortable/improving zone so not too much time for the hobby and forums.
