Osprey’s Blue Wargame Series continues to roll on with this release. The focus in these rules is Pike and Shot battles of the 17th century. However, unlike many games from this genre it is focused on skirmish between small units as opposed to full scale battles. If you are familiar with the Rampant series of rules, then you know the scale and design philosophy behind these rules. Before reading further, I recommend you take a look at my Lion Rampant and Dragon Rampant reviews first. Pikeman’s Lament uses the same core rules with some improvements. With that in mind, this review will try to focus on the difference between this rules set and the previous two that were mentioned.
You can find all the juicy details at my blog.

I like osprey rulesets, they are cheap as chips, with lot of flavour and always an interesting reading.
-
Yeah. They have really opened my eyes to all sorts of new ways to play games.
-
I wonder if someone in my group will get this. They don't like the old Pike and Shotte ruleset so it would be interesting to see if this "stuck".

I am intereted ni a review of rogue star? someone know if it fun?, or a comment?
-
I have that on my list to review next.

looking forward to read it

I've had a read through of the rules, and they are very like Lion Rampant, much more so than TMWWBK.
As to a comparison to Pike & Shotte, well apart from being in the same era there is nothing much in common. PL is a skirmish set with perhaps 4 units per side. PS is large battle with perhaps 16+ units per side. Both have command roll mechanisms. But the look and feel of combat is very different. If your group wanted the size of battles of P&S then PL probably won't work instead.

Agreed. This is more focused on Le Petite Guerre and not the big battles.
