Confused units can be brought into combat after the shooting phase with an advance so....
In the next turn and 2 turns of combat after that, would the confused unit still be confused? When would a unit become un-confused during the unsettled and continuing combat rounds?
-
A unit is confused until the end of that units next command phase.
Therefore any confused unit(s) that find themselves being drawn into a combat, stay confused until after their next command phase. Whilst confused, a unit is at -1 attacks, nor can it provide support page 56.
Hope this helps.

I guess it just makes sense to me that a confused unit should stay confused until it can go a command phase outside of combat. Makes weird sense that they could unconfused themselves during the murderous chaos of combat :)

yes, this is good point. Looks like this situation wasn't acounted for in WMA.

We can still take a vote of course, but can I expect a rule addition? Thank you.
-
Yes, I'll bring it forward in the committee. Might be included in comming 1.0. Will let you know. Thanx!

Though I am but a lowly clanrat. I would be interested to know what it is the WMRC may be taking a vote on with regards to to this thread.
Thanks,

to change the rule. As it states, currently, when a confused unit is still in combat at the end of it's command phase it becomes un confused and loses the "-1" attack modifier. I suggest to just add an additional comment about how the unit needs to be "unengaged" at the end of it's command phase to become unconfused.

Thanks. Sounds good.

I dont see this rule change in the new revoultions rulebook. Did it not make it in or just missed/forgotten?
-
Sorry I forgot to put it here. I brougt it forward in the committee and most of the members were against this change, so it remained as it was.

Can I bring up a historical reference that I think applies? General Custer's last stand? They got confused and then just started running and never regrouped.
-
In Warmaster though a full route is represented by hits taken- not just models killed. That's why hits are discounted at the end of combat, as units rally. Your example of Custer's forces is more akin to a unit being fully wiped out, in game terms.
I think it's fine if units can lose confusion while in combat. You've had two turns of hitting them while they're at a severe disadvantage- if they're still alive they must be tough, and have probably managed to regroup or at least formed some kind of effective fighting block.

that's true, the confused soldiers would all be cutoff and killed by that time leaving a smaller unit but the ones still formed up correctly. and actually, after reading deeper about custer.....they put a last stand together against the Indians on a hill so they were able to get unconfused, even though their numbers were incredibly few by that time.
thank you.
