Hi guys
I am new joining the forum - (been a long time lurker). I wasn't sure where to put this post as it is a trade and/or buy with a query all in one?
I am a fanatical Warmaster player and collector (I have over 4K of painted chaos and 4-5K of (partially painted) Empire, Skaven, Tomb Kings, O+G and a small force of High Elves. I am gearing up to doing a Storm of Chaos campaign and am after the now discontinued Warmaster Chaos Norse Marauders (as many as I can get my hands on).
Does anyone know anywhere that still might sell these (I have have only ever seen them on e:bay once and missed them), or know anyone who might be willing to sell or trade them (especially if they have multiple packs)? In return I could offer some Warmaster Empire Knights of the Blazing Sun, Knights Panther and a goblin cannon, goblin spider riders (4 packs) and Forest Goblin Infantry (4 packs). I live in Lancashire in the UK but would be willing to trade/buy/sell world wide.
Also I am slightly alarmed at the rumour that Warmaster might be unavailable after Xmas - I might be buying some more before the prices go silly on e:bay!

welcome david,
It seems someone has been painting a lot these years ;) It will be great to see some shots of your armies.
About the norse marauders, I have no idea... do not have them. It is a real shame the discontinued blisters. I have heard that in central GW nottingham could make discontinued figures if you go in person and they cast the quantity needed in the day. I also heard that these service is not working now, and also heard that these service were a legend and never occured.
I think if that kind of services still being in practice post like yours will not appear in the forums, specially living in the UK. But maybe this "legend-information" could be of help to you... who knows.
ahhh if it is real... and works... do not forget to post here your experience, because I specially would like to have the storm of chaos characters ;D
regards,
jchaos

They don't cast on demand any more, and never really did. It wasn't a tremendously effecient manner in which to sell stuff I should imagine...
As to the Norse Marauders. I have two units of them still in bare metal, but I'm afraid I have no intention of letting them go any time soon as completing a Norse army is still on my 'to-do list'... I never did get hold of any of the Teutogen Guard though, kind of mildly regretting that...

cant help you on that one but will ask guys at local gaming club. are yo uwilling to part with your goblins though anyway?

Thanks guys
Yes, I will eventually get round to posting some pics of games in progress - will need to borrow my mates digital camera though and work out how to download them onto this site!
Painting for years - absolutely. Lots of people tell me that painting Warmaster is easy because they are small - for me the reverse is true. I like to put base colours on, ink then dry brush, similar to 28mm figure painting so it takes me a couple of years to get a full army done. Since I got married and had kids, I just don't have the time to paint as much as I would like!
Pity about the norse marauders, I think I will have to look at 10mm historical ranges instead.....?
Re getting rid of my oop Warmaster - sorry but I would only be willing to swap these for other rare and oop warmaster. I know I could sell them on e:bay for silly money but they are getting scarcer and scarcer and if I got rid of them, I know I would regret it years down the line.

Now that is a familiar story, well apart from the dry-brushing, other than maybe for the main colour I don't tend to do much drybrushing for my Warmaser figures. I find it easier to get a decent finish though basic layered highlights, otherwise you get an awful lot of colour overspill.

Well they're vikings rather than 'GW Norse'. The existing Chaos Marauders are actually closer. Just keep an eye out on ebay would be my advice. Well either that or get your sculpting tools and green stuff out and convert some Marauders to be more 'Norsey'...

I would recommend Old Glory Vikings - one of the best and cast in strips.

I know it's an old post - but it is not necessary to start a new one.
I would just ask to have a picture of those figs everybody is looking for. I don't even know how they look like.

@Marell
You got pictures of them in the Warmaster Magazines ...but don´t ask me now in which one....can´t chek as I´m in office.

Here's a fairly blury picture I found online:

If I can see a better one in one of the magazines I'll post it later.

Nobody has a better picture ?
I thought it was a rare but known unit... Nobody have it ? Is it unreleased or something like that ?

I have two in blisters. Not sure I want to take them out at this point.

That's a "yes."
I finally got around to taking pictures... but have to shuffle the files between computers to upload them, so I've procrastinated... sorry.
