I already finished the core units of my undead army. Five units of spearmen and four units of archers.

Today I finished my main striking force. Three units of chariots. Next some cavalry as support for the chariots will follow.

They look great! I like how you based them too. I am eager to see more!
-
Excellent painting and you are churning them out quickly - well done!
Did you spray black and then drybrush for the bone white or did you add any other stages (inking?).

Thanks for the comments guys! For the bases I just paint them scorched brown, then highlight with bestial brown and just a little bit of bleached bone on top. The skeletons were first primed black, then I highlight them with bleached bone and finally skull white. Maybe I should use some more white on the highlight next time because I like the look of Vincents skeletons in his egyptian style army.

Now some cavalry acting as bait or light support to threaten the enemies flank.

Today I just joined the tale with the following units:
- 1 Tomb King
- 3 Liche Priests
- 3 Skeleton Spearmen
- 1 Skeleton Archers
- 4 Skeleton Cavalry
- 1 Sphinx
- 1 Skull Chukka
- 1 Bone Throwers
- 1 Carrions
I think I will start with the Tomb King and his Priests first so the undead hordes get some live and are able to walk. Also then I can run some small demo games. I think some artillery and the sphinx in the army should increase the playing fun. But my main goal is to increase the numbers with lots of cheap units, so I got 3 more skeletons and 4 more cavalry to paint and I am standing by buying some more spearmen.
-
Meanwhile I added some characters to my undead horde. Painting these was a welcome change to the normal troops.

shadowy pictures but fitting i guess :)
looks good

Yep, you're right. I'm also unhappy with the yellowish haze. Although it fits nicely with the undead I didn't do it on purpose ::). Maybe I should get in more lamps the next photo shooting. I'll experiment a little bit.
-
just an idea, try to balance the colour of the pic with a pic editor raising the level of blue. Anyway great undead army!!!

Thanks for the advice jchaos79. Sounds like a good idea. I will play around a lit bit the next time.

Yep he is. I am almost done watching seasons 1-6. lmao It's so funny ;D

I am happy that I'm making quick progress with my undead army. Almost spitting out troops like a machine considering my usual slow painting speed and lack of time. Today I finished two more Liche Priests to play 2k games and some artillery. As you can see I also experimented a little bit with the camera and light but I wasn't very successful.

It's time for an update. Meanwhile I finished two more units of cavalry and a sphinx. Painting the large monster felt quite different to the other small 10mm stuff. Maybe I should get some experience painting 28mm and change to WHFB :)

Oops, forgot the pics. Here they are!

great work.
However I think it may be time for a reboot of the painters tale.

What do you mean? Change the painters tale to two units a week? ;D
-
Today I finished to base three more units. Two regiments of archers so it's six altogother and a unit of carrions.

Having reached 1995p now, it's time for some additional units so I can swap. Still in blisters I got a second skull Chukka and Bone Throwers. Also a second unit of carrions. But most important are four more units of spearmen as core troops and for the raise dead spell plus the zombie dragon. Maybe I'll paint some more chariots for the real tough games but right now I'm happy with my three and I don't want to max them out. Maybe one will follow to get a nice brigade of four or get two mixed brigades with 4 cavalry.
-
If you don´t max out for Chariots I recommend to use 1 or 2 Giants to get some punch in close combat.
It will make you mor vulnerable for attacks but if you keep them in the 2nd line they can lead the counter charge if....yes, big IF.....you are able to give a succesfull command ;)
BTW nice pics of clean bones ;D

Greetings!
I really like the dark and more sinister look of your army than typical, egyptian style of Tomb Kings. Would be great to see some group photo of your painted units. :)
Keep up the good work!

Sorry, I neglected this thread a little bit. Today I took some pictures of newly finished minis and also took one of my undead army for you. I'll post it in my thread in the model & painting section. Thank you!
