OoP Armies reproduced!
« on: April 01, 2010, 08:58:02 AM »
Latest rumours say that Out of Print armies could be soon reproduced!

Last february I met the tin-model producer Ernst Albern at the Zinnfigurenmuseum Katzelsdorf. We talked a bit and he told me that he plays Warmaster for a year now and was very much attracted to the system which reminded him a bit of De Bellis Antiquitatis. Mr Albern who learned the craft of tin-moulding at the famous "Hofmann" in Nuernberg was interested to hear that there are some WM armies out of production or never produced and promised to think about it.

Now I just got news from him that the first moulds are finished and production will begin just after easter. For copyright reasons the first army will be called "Giant Cannibals " but we all know what's meant by it. If sale is a success Mr Albern promised to prepare an army of "Savage Elfs" and "Polish Fantasy Troops".

Mr Albern has a small shop in Nuernberg: Zinnfiguren Albern, A. Scherzplatz 1, 90403 Nuernberg.

Would he cast from greens produced by outside sculptors (assuming they would be up to standard, like, say DaveC or Alexey ??)

Good News Gerald !!

If this is legit then I think the polish may be more popular than the other 2 but the scuplts dave has done are some of the best WM figures I have ever seen.
There is a lot of scope for models that are required but not made.
Daemons immediately spring to mind, but the experimental/trial lists really are ripe for work in this area.

Can I put a request in for a goblin hewer?

 :D I am so sorry but I could'nt help it! ;D

I thought some people would babelfish "Ernst Albern" and would see that it means "Earnest Goofy" and I don't think there's a "Joking-Square" in Nuernberg either...

1000 excuses to all the players who already took their money off the bank.  ;)
So we have to fall back to plan A: Nerving DaveC to get the "Giant Cannibals" some day.

Greetings.
Gerald
