3 player games
« on: July 08, 2010, 02:38:32 PM »
Hello all,

Just a quick thank you. My friend has got that bretonnian army and we had a game yesterday. Just thought i'd thank everyone for the new bretonnian army lists and advice for converting his figures.  ;D We got a great deal, he got 5k of painted bretonnians and 5k of painted orcs for just £60.(i now have 18 units of painted orcs!!!) I've seen 2k armies go for alot more, paint job is only basic, but still worth it. I bought the orcs off him. A bargain!!!

Onto my question. We're thinking of doing a 3 player game this weekend. Are there any specific rules/deployment i should know about? and also, has anyone got a good scenario for a 3 player game?

I've got those old warmags, i can remember one game that was bretonnians defending a ruined chapel and skaven and undead attacking each other. I'm tempted to try something along those lines.

Our game will be bretonnians, orcs (me) and chaos

Where are you finding these bargains?

Yes the scenario mentioned is probably your best bet.
As they can be a little tricky.

It's a guy that works at GW, he wanted rid of his armies.

OK, had a simple idea that i might try out. I've written this backwards to how i usually come up with scenarios. This time i've come up with the rules first, and will write the background later on.

One problem we might have is keeping track of who killed which unit for victory points. It's potentially complicated if side A kills two stands from a unit and side B finishes them off. hhmmm

Well, here's my idea including deployment. We'll randomly decide who deploys in which area.

There are four objectives. 1, 2 and 3 are worth an extra 200 VP's. Objective 4 is worth an extra 400 VP's

Objective 2 is a tower/keep that's surrounded by a river. It takes an extra order to cross the river (think i might rule that only cavalry and infantry can cross it) Only infantry can enter the tower, and they'll count as fortified once inside.
Objective 1 is a hill

What i'm trying to do is encourage a big fight towards the centre of the board.

.....I think i'll go and write up the background for it now.

Any input is more than welcome  :)
