The most expensive wm unit EVER!
« on: March 09, 2010, 09:34:52 PM »
As some of you may know I monitor wm activity on the uk version of eBay.
The rare units fetch handsome prices, swordmasters & phoenix guard levelling out at around £26 with the very rare dragon princes going for around £35 (I know cause I called it a day at £30).
So when the empire teutogen guard (one of the few rare units I don't own) came up the other day I watched them with interest.

I nearly fell off my chair when I saw they had fetched what you can pay for a decent 2k chaos army  ??? ??? ???

So if any of you out there has a pack or two spare, looks like now is the time to cash in. ;D

According to a currency converter, that's about $106 USD.  Pretty good!

I sold a unit of Dragon Princes for $125 USD.  I was floored.

For a while I was getting $40 for a unit of Dark Elf Corsairs, and I seemed to keep getting the odd unit from different trades.

Sometimes I wonder about making a living just trading on eBay.

If you can get access to rare units then their is a living to be made.
I had a source at  one point for certain units and even after shipping them across the pond it was still paying for my new armies :)
Just a shame my source dried up and the ones I still need are ULTRA rare :(

Perhaps he just sold one and paid for the rest of his empire army ;)

@Lex - do you know what became of the limit run, pre-order model of releasing these rare units?
It seemed like a good and viable option to me, as I am happy to pay double for those units I still need to complete my collection.

Probably I will sell my 2 units also on e-bay..... ::)

Who need shares and the stock market....buy Teutogen guards and you get 1000% profit in 2-3 years  ;D

When I originally heard that GW were stopping selling lots of the warmaster range I rang up and ordered a storm of chaos blister* and 3 cavalry regiments each of the knights of the blazing sun and knights panther (they were out of white wolves otherwise I would have had 3 of those too!).
I now wish I had ordered 15 of each!!!!! I have since managed to pick up 2 units of knights of the white wolf on e bay for approx £20 each.

*(the mail order troll claimed I was lucky because it was the last ever blister to leave the factory)

I know this should probably go in the trade section but I would be willing to trade a knights panther and a blazing sun if anyone had a couple of regiments of high elf dragon princes - straight swap?

I intend to paint up 2 regiments of each of the 4 types of Empire cavalry eventually for my 3K Empire army.
