Looking for model sources
« on: June 20, 2011, 09:23:38 PM »
So I have begun to buy my araby force and I am going to do what I normally do and also build the alt lists at the same time.
Just made a list of my outstanding units so does anyone have any suggestions for the following:

zealots
witch hunters
warrior priests

Goblin Hewer

Effigy of Gork
Grimgor Ironhide
Da Immortalz

Sand lizard
Rukh
Corsairs
scorpion warriors
dervishers.

Thanks in advance
Mick

I'll start with:

Zealots = Brettonian Peasants they have that angry mob look thats what I'm using anyway.
TB line also do some nice peasants Some of those TB line peasants might even work as Warrior priests.

This Pendraken mini has a witch hunter look to it.

I bought some of the new Pendraken League of Ausburg  stuff to convert to witchhunters (taller hats needed  ;D thats about all). Their new stuff is quite impressive would make some nice Dogs of War as well. Painted pics

I have some other witchhunter stuff bookmarked somewhere I'll see if I can find it again.

A Rukh is actually a Roc - a large bird.

A Warhammer Wood Elf warhawk would look the part with an Araby elephant howdah on it's back. I think an Eagle woud be too big for Warmaster scale. I'd go with the one with the armoured head as the others have cloth on half their head. There are some vines on the back but nothing that can't be fixed or incorporated into the design.  Unfortunately you get a random one from mail order so a trip to a GW shop maybe required.

Splintered Lights Komodo Dragons would make good sand lizards being 15mm add a hero to it's back.
GW Lizardmen jungle swarms also have some lizards but they look a bit dated now.

You could probably make Dervishers out of some of the Empire Flagellants their clothes sort of billow out.

I'll update this as I think of more.

Brutalrage we're talking about the Warmaster Trail Armies 2009 lists, scroll down very last link.

Specifically the Witchhunters, Slayer King, Grimgor's Ardboyz and Araby Tribal and City State lists.

Nice suggestions on the witchhunters, there are more models lurking in those ranges. And to some extend even in the period after that, look at some of the indian wars stuff.... nice rural types.

Ah finally found it have a look through this log for Witch hunters ideas he used mostly Pendraken minis. The English Civil War stuff has a good look the hats are perfect for witch hunters. Thats running through Google translate as the original site is in Spanish so the text reads a bit strange.

I've copied all of the following pictures into my photobucket account so as not to leech the guys bandwidth.

Nice picture of EC2 painted up in a unit.

And Zealots made using a mix of EC8 , ELM 14 and ELM21 Think I like these more than my Brettonian Peasants suggestion.

And for completeness here's EC14

and EC28

I'm finished editing this post now!!!

The witch hunter army of Enbaji are delicous.

Maybe the following could help:
I made this log with the purpose of have an index of 10mm miniatures and centralize the option for searching conversion or total conversion or create special units. As also a way of having a catalogue or guide of painting of the units.

http://warmaster-acolytes.mforos.com/1854818/9149890-indice-database/

[unfortunatley I have no much time to upgrade it, but I invite anyone to contribute and send/post pics with the apropiate reference and still grow the database.

anyone interested to contribute could log in and post the pics (any lenguage is permited, and now are fantastic on line translator) or just mail me to jchaos79@yahoo.es with the pics attached and I will post the reference.]
