Team Breakdown for new players?
« on: June 23, 2009, 08:39:29 PM »
We have several folks in our local area discussing starting bloodbowl.
I am actually trying to save up the $$ to buy the actual box, although i may just download the living rules.

anyways.
would anyone mind doing a breakdown of the different teams and their styles.
I know orks are tough and like to run, but bad at passing?
i assume humans are all-rounders but not great at anything...

but i am sure there are folks out there than can break them down for us ...

much appreciation

Hmm, looks like there`s nobody who can break down all teh teams. So i make a start and describe the two teams i have a little experience with.

The team i am mostly playing are the skavens. I must say that this is great fun because they are really fast. With the gutterrunners you can nearly reach the endzone in one turn, so they are made for quick touchdowns. If you prefer the passing game that´s possible also, even with the fact that you have no real catchers. But i like it to get behind the opponents line and spread my players all over the field so that it´s nearly impossible for my opponent to guard them all.
The ugly thing, if you play skavens is that thye are fragile. Because of the low armour it´s easy for your opponent to take them out of the game, so i always look, that my teamroster is filled to 16 players. This also means, that when your team is getting experience it also get´s a lot of injurys. I had games where i only cut put 10 players on the field because of this. And of course that was really bad luck!  ;)
The ratogre i haven´t tested yet, so i can´t say anything abaout this issue.

The other team i have experience with are the halflings. to describe them is easy. They are weak. They are slow. They have nearly none armour. They can have two treemen.
If you don´t mind loosing it´s really fun to play with them.  ;D

Hope i could helb a bit.

Here you can find a Breakdown for Human, Ork, Chaos, Wood Elf, Goblins, Skaven, Dwarfs and Lizzardmen.

All Elf Team have a high agility. So the are equal fpr Pass-Playing.
Wood Elf are the fastet one. And the only one with a Big Guy (Treeman)
Dark Elf are the BAD one. (Assassin)
High Elf have the best AV.
The Normal Elf are Normal.

Amazons are a Moving Team. All Amazones have Dodge. So the can TRY to move during enemy Tackling Zones (exept Dwarfs)

Kemri, Necromant and Undead
Slow and forget passing. But the are tough. And thanks regeneration you lost rarely a Player.

Norse
Humans with Block. If you want play first the Enemy head and then with the Ball, there are the right Team.
If you find spelling mistake, you can keep them.
