"ChubbyBob" and other things.
« on: February 21, 2013, 07:30:28 AM »
Hi!
I'm wondering if anyone knows what happened to the old timer ChubbyBob; he has a nifty (but very dated now) site with a slew of DIY tutorials. I poked about and it seems he disappeared some years ago, which would be disturbing considering his constant contributions back when Gothic was supported. It's just a shock when someone goes *poof*, and considering this hobby size, every loss is missed. To anyone who knew him better: he is OK yes?

Anyways, it's nice to have rediscovered my interest in Gothic, so take this as my greeting to the community. Used to play Chaos ages ago, but now am thinking of doing something with the IN, dunno yet.

*Can someone show me where I can access the old Gothicomp winners pages? I found a few links across the webs, but they're broken. Looking for 2005 entries up.

*Is there a reliable warp rift compendium? Hah! Found it!

Cheers,
Duke

Or for that matter the High Admiralty? Are any of those three marginally around? Is BFG:R being collaborated with them?

Cheers,
Duke

Hi, great to see your getting back into the game.

I dont know this "chubby bob" but after some looking I do know his work! I remember seeing quite a bit of this stuff probably 10 years or so ago before I quit Gothic the first time (which seems harder than quitting smoking...)

The sites still work which is a good sign I guess but they dont appear to have been updated in quite some time.

The Gothic comp files were on the Tac command but most of the links are dead now :/. The site says theyre updating but I dont know the details about it. Maybe Horizon has some backups floating around somewhere?

As for the HA I havent heard anything from them on the Revised work that I can remember recently. The last thing I really recall was Ray working on the Necrons after the release of the codex last year.
I don't make the rules, I just think them up and write them down.

Putting the GothiComp galleries back online is definately on my list of things to do, and they will go back up on this site.

The ha has been really let down by gw and thrown the towel down for the time being. They still play BFG though.
