BFG Tournament near Philadelphia, PA USA Aug 3rd, 2013
« on: July 01, 2013, 10:57:28 PM »
Hi, I am running a BFG tournament at my local store near Philadelphia, PA on Aug 3rd.  The people on the forum seem to be spread out quite a bit around the world but you never know who might be looking.  The last tournament I ran had ten people show up to play so this may well be the east coast's largest BFG event.  Hope to see some of you come out for it.  Here is the information.

DescriptionBattlefleet Gothic Tournament 2013

Basic Rules
•   The Battlefleet Gothic rules from the Big Blue rulebook will be used.  They are available to download from Games Workshop’s website.
•   Fleet lists from the BB rulebook, Armada, the Games Workshop website, and the Battlefleet Gothic 2010 Compendium Fleet Lists will be used.
o   Imperial Armor fleet lists will not be allowed
•   The Battlefleet Gothic 2010 FAQ is in effect.  It is considered current and will override all previous versions, FAQ’s and printings.
The following exceptions and clarifications to the 2010 FAQ will be made for this tournament.
o   Tyranid fleets will be allowed to use bio-morphs. Players must keep the same bio-morphs throughout the entire tournament.
o   Pre-measuring is not allowed unless both players agree.
o   Torpedo salvos of any size MUST be replaced by a marker the size of a strength three torpedo marker with dice used to mark its strength.
o   Forge world models and other proxies CAN be used. They must be on the proper sized bases.  Please do whatever you can to make sure it is easy to identify the ships. as what they are supposed to represent.  If your fleet is deemed confusing by your opponent you will have to put labels on your bases.
•   Players must bring any markers, dice, rulers and equipment that they may need to play.
•   Players must bring four copies of their fleet list, one for each opponent and one for the tournament organizers.
•   This Tournament is “full disclosure”.  Each player must share their fleet list with their opponent on request.
•   All players must have a copy of the rules for their fleet to be shown to their opponent upon request.
•   All rulings by the tournament organizers will be final.

Fleet Design Rules
•   Fleets cannot exceed 1500pts
•   Fleets must follow all the requirements of their lists
•   â€œNamed Ship” upgrades from the BB rulebook and Armada are allowed as generic upgrades
o   Example: you can have more than one Mars class battle cruiser with a targeting matrix upgrade not just the named ship “Imperious”.
•   Unique ships with a specific name (the Planet Killer, Arc Mechanicus, Gorbags Revenge, etc) are allowed, however, you can only have one instance of each in your fleet.

Gameplay
•   The tournament will consist of 3 games.
•   Round 1 pairings will be done any magical way the tournament organizers deem fit and a Swiss system will be used for the next two rounds.
•   Leadership will be rolled each game but if your ship or escort squadron was not destroyed then you may, if you wish, keep the same leadership value for the next game.
•   Adeptus Mechanicus ship upgrades will be rolled for at the start of each game
•   Sub-plots will not be used.  This includes Adeptus Mechanicus sub-plots
•   Ships may not move into Low Orbit
