Due to a spot of bad planning on my part I had run out of things to paint 3 weeks before payday with no undercoat to be found in the house.
So I decided to finish off a slotcar project I have had on hold for 5 years.
After spraying the car mettalic red I wondered if I could use a gloss spray to any effect.
My friend uses it all the time (as he is a tight wad
) but I was dubious.
I didn't think the acrylic would adhere sufficiently.
So I tried it out.
The results are amazing.
The metallic red is the best I have ever achieved (i.e. RED and not PINK).
So I dug out all of my old metallic auto spray and got down to spraying 8 units of knights and 4 units of warriors in various colours to match the 4 powers.
Yes I can paint again
Doing this cuts out a major portion of the work required as in effect you just have to pick out the detail.
The paint adheres fine as do washes, inks are a bit hit and miss but it is something I am prepared to live with for the time I have saved.
