Which is more attractive to a prospective buyer?
« on: March 23, 2010, 08:37:38 PM »
So after a bit of wheeler dealing I now have the following 3000 point army for sale.

1 General
3 Heroes
3 Sorcerors
1 character on a dragon
5 warriors
4 marauders
1 marauder horsemen
3 chaos knights
1 chaos hound
2 harpies
1 dragon ogre
1 chaos spawn

Should I sell it as is or split into 2 1500 point armies (I have enough characters to make up the shortfall)?

I obviously want to recoup my investment, but I also want it to go to a good home where it will be used.
Thoughts please!

I would split it up.

In my Chaos armies (at 2k points) I do not use more than 3 Chaos Warriors or more than 2 Chaos Knights. I personally prefer Chariots and Marauders. So if you split this up into two parts every one has a decent basis one could be content with. Whatever he wants to specialize in he could buy afterwards.

My 2 cents,

As a hobby shop owner, I feel that you will find it easier selling 3x 1000point armies then anything else, that is if you want to get your money recouped. The larger the army the more it seems to cost and the more tempted you are to sell it off as one lump sum bargain. The smaller the object for sale the cheaper it appears and thus the more bargaining room when selling it, if you know what I mean ;)
