Again the streets rang out with the cries and bellowing of clashing warbands.
Here in the wizard's quarter 3 groups scampered for randomly dropped swags of goodies. Unbeknown to all, strange statues were looking down on the unfolding event and punished anyone who picked up their swags with their spells.
Here the Dark Elves setup along the River Stir ready to pounce on the first swag in a nearby forest (which ended up being the centre of all bloodshed).
The Carnival setup under the shadow of the nearby, creaking windmill ready to grab a swag in a crater and also for the swag in the forest.
The skaven setup on the far edge, ready to grab as many swags on their way to meet the other warbands.
First turn saw the DE's enter the woods and grab "their" swag. The CoC also grabbed a swag from the crater and advanced into the forest too.
Meanwhile the skaven spread out pouncing on as many swags as possible. Magic shot out from statues all over the board, but it was pitiful magic and did diddly squat. Oh and the CoC cart went for a casual stroll up the flank of the board
And here's where the bloodshed began in turn 2. Both DE's and CoC clashed with each other. The CoC not fairing too well after a Brute got swamped in the forest by DE's and went OOA and the Tainted One's pee'd their pants in front of the DE's hounds.
Cackling to themselves the skaven advanced across the river to the commotion.
After a few turns with the skaven joining in, in the forest of blood, the skaven and CoC were finding themselves a little worse for wear as the DE's ripped into each of them, especially from two henchmen and their pesky mage.
Even when it looked like the other Brute was going to have his revenge on his fallen brother, it ended up taking him OOA!!!
In the end the Magister (who was "trying" to climb to another swag before the skaven got it), got sick of watching his warband falling apart and joined in on the forest carnage.
Leaving the final swag to be picked up by the skaven.
Thus leaving the skaven with the most cache of swags, before they high tailed it off the board, and just when the CoC's cart had them lined up for a drive by!!!
In the end the CoC also scampered off the board leaving the DE's victorious but with the skaven with the most booty!
All in all it was another fun game, with those statues not phasing any of us
