Anyone have any hands on experience w/Dark Realm Miniatures?
« on: August 11, 2011, 07:27:26 PM »
Specifically the Jungle infantry line http://www.darkrealmminiatures.co.uk/store/product.php?productid=128&cat=2&page=1?

I'm thinking of using them as Catachan Jungle Fighter detachment to round out my already large IG force but wanted to see if anyone else has any input on their quality and other factors that may influence my decision. Personally I'd rather just buy from GW but since they've all but abandoned SG I'm forced to look elsewhere.

thanks

I've got a bunch of them, the heavy weapon's guy I use as a Heavy Bolter, grenade thrower as a Demo-charge and the others as Sergeants and Vets.

Nice one. Out of curiosity any issue with basing figures in "regular" stands or are we stuck with what they ship?

DRM stuff doesn't come with stands, so you're on your own. The figure plinths are the same as the Epic stuff though, 1mm think and 1/4" in diameter, there abouts.

From a pedantic, hypercritical viewpoint, they could be better.  They'll do at a pinch if you can't get Rambo-types elsewhere, but compared to some other 6mm manufacturers they look a bit blobby and squashed.  Bob Naismith's half-hearted rush jobs from when both DRM and Steel crown started up.

They might look okay from three feet across a table, but so would painted grains of rice, and you have to pick 'em up sometime. ;)

Do you have other recomendations then?
