LoS in wood etc

In order to make a long story short, how long does an infantery unit se inside a wood?

For example both players has got units in the same wood in which distanse can the carge order take place or shooting attacks if the charge order fails

You do indeed recall correctly. The 1cm in the original rulebook was as I believe may have been pointed out by myself more than a little daft, as it meant that no advance charges could ever be made in a straight frontal assault for example.
