Making Command models for HE Dragon Princes
« on: May 27, 2011, 01:27:42 AM »
I recently traded for some Dragon Princes without command models.

I decided tonight that I would create the banner and champion and here's what I am attempting.
I took the command strip from the HE Spears, the one with the horse.   I used a jeweller's saw to remove the horse from the strip.  This hacked up the banner, which conveniently has a Dragon head and neck at the top.  I'm going to attach the top part of this banner to an as yet undetermined spare.

The champion would be easy to simply use the one with the Dragon Helm, but I decided to remove the head and am now looking for a body to recapitate.  I thought about the guy from the spear strip, but his horse doesn't really fit (better as a hero or general).

In any event any suggestions for models?

Why not recasting a true dragon prince standard model ?

I also bought a unit recently on ebay. For 15 Euros only but I'm also missing the command strip and got 6 regular strips. Should have checked the picture better. So I'm also looking forward to any hints. The idea to remove the dragon head from the banner is great. Maybe you can do something with that. Maybe exchange it with the horse head of the silver helm banner because I think the dragon head is too big to be used on a helmet.

I agree that the banner is really the one to use, the question is on which model.

The silver helm horse is, I think, to identifiable.  I am seriously considering the "Turkey" standard, but I think it will naturally convert into a dragon.  I'm thinking of sawing the middle, splaying the wings and scratching a leathery wing pattern into the back.

The champion is really the difficult piece because the temptation is to use the dragon helmed hero and call it done, but I just don't like using duplicates for important pieces.
