any interest in making a saga
« on: February 02, 2012, 07:44:24 PM »
Hi I was wondering that campaigns are a very attractive experience but takes a lot of effort and compromise to get a game every week (not even comment the difficulties of getting opponents in isolated town of the geography). So I thought that a Saga/chornicle could be a good trigger or experience to share individual battles.

So let me know what you think about it, oppinions, drawback or imporvements and if you would be interested in.

what I called a Saga/Chronicle.
It is a record of achievments and battles build for everyone who wants to contribute as a chronology in the Old Fantasy World.
When a game with your friends is play take some pics or make a report and upload it here filling some field in the header. Then a chronolgy is build. Your game-group could go with some fluff stories or even interact with other fluff games-groups.

There is also a record of win/lost battle chart for players and armies. Also, each battle won give +1 point to a total for Bad guys (chaos, undead, dark elves, etc) or Good guys (empire, high elves, dwarves).

Who won in a Saga
No one, just building or story-telling a story of nations or generals.

Fields to cover in the head of the post
nickname of player 1 and 2
· Armieslist used
· points played
· name of the general (optional field)
· name of the battle (optional field): tradition says that the winner has the honour to name the battle for the saga
· Location of the battle (optional field)
· The Bet: Before starting the battle each player has to say or write in a piece of paper what they are betting in the game as a achievment for the Saga.

in example:
jchaos79 plays 3000 points of chaos   vs   Edmund plays 2500 points of Empire
Chaos general: Gozzer the gozzerian
Empire general: Lector Count Letus
Battle: Schorn Gross battle
Location: Somewhere between kislev and Empire border
The BET:
If chaos wins then Gozzer the gozzerian will raid kislev territory
If empire wins they desecrate the unholy altar of Gozzer, weaking the chaos advance

Then the report, empire wins, so increase +1 for global good guys record, +1 for empire victories, +1 for edmund victories.
A entry in the saga is made:

In 1351 Lector count Letus defend the empire east boundry dispersing the forces of Gozzer the gozzrian and desecrating his unholy altar.

A saga is being made adding your experiences in regular games or esporadic games.
The record of victories gives a sense of if the are the dark forces winning the eternal struggle or are the good forces the victorious.
The record of armys victories gives a sense of which race/population is the most powerfull
The record of the player gives a sense of which character/general is the most influential warleader

This will not take you too much effort and is a way of sharing your battle experiences without the compromise of a campaing with ruleset.

What do you think? could be worthy?
