Value of the wound counters?
« on: July 25, 2012, 03:57:57 PM »
Hey folks,

I have recently come into possession of a brand new set of wound/casualty counters. I have the entire set.

Is this something that would be worth some money?

This is a topic that comes up from time to time.

The casualty markers are all Out Of Print.  But they are not hugely valuable in themselves.  I bought about 10 on ebay for only £4, but I've seen similar amounts go for £15.  Depends on who's online and what they're looking for!

The only ones that are crazily sought after are the large "A" empire cannon counters, which only had a limited release.

Thanks for the reply.

I have a mint blister of 10 counters. They are all the small ones though.

Not to hijack the thread, but what are the "A" counters going for? Along with some regular ones, I picked up one "A" through a trade.

A blister of 10 is going for betweenn $30 and $50 based on the last couple of auctions I have seen.

Haven't seen the rare "A" one yet for auction.

Really? I doubt it.

Did those auctions have any buyers?

The A counter is the one with the cannon on it and is very rare.

That packet for going for £21 is pretty unexpected to me - there have been some crazy high Warmaster prices going on in the past month as we see in the eBay thread.

If i remember well, the A counter went for approx 40$ last year on ebay. And there was a heavy empire army with two of those A counters that went for something like 300 USD.

Prices are really "up and down" on e bay. I recently bought a forgeworld windmill for warmaster at a "buy it now" price of less than £20.00!

If you see it and you want it NOW, you often have to pay through the nose for things. If you are patient and keep trawling e bay, eventually, you'll pick up what you're after at a reasonable price.

Casualty markers - meh, I have about 60 of the things and never use them.

If you worry about a gift for a Warmaster player who already has everything the wound counter is a good option...

Practical use? There's only one player I know of that uses them. He made a little wound counter clock with them - Claus.

I used some of the smaller ones on the bases of my Dwarf Rangers to distinguish the units, and some are part of objective markers. Never actually used them as woundmarkers
