Well my opponent and I managed to get in a Warmaster Fantasy game this week, we played on his fantastic modular board using our fully painted armies. He played the Dark Elves, I was the Tomb Kings.

He took 2 Crossbows and 4 Spears, 6 units of Cold One Knights, 2 Witch Elves, a Hydra, 2 Harpies, a General, a Hero on Manticore, and a Sorceress riding his specially converted Cauldron of Blood.

I took 4 Archers and 4 Warriors, 6 Chariots, 4 Horsemen, 2 Carrion, 2 Skullchuckers, a General, and four Liche Priests.

We set up and I got the first turn.

Neither of us managed to push forward during the first few turns, but by the middle of the game my Carrion were in place to strike the flank of his Cold One Knights. They charged in, only to bounce off when he passed 7 out of 8 armour saves!

"CLANG!"
On the other flank my Carrion eyed up his Harpies and made a meal out of them.

""SQUAWK!"
In the centre his Witch Elves charged into my infantry in a forest. Clearly my Skeletons used to be Wood Elves as they repelled the Witch Elves and slaughtered them!

The Arboreal Skeleton Commando Corps(e?).

Cold One Knights and Chariots clashed in the centre of the board. The Hydra smashed up some Chariots but eventually got brought down by weight of numbers.

RAAARGH!
The game was right in the balance until the last turn, when my troops refused to obey any orders and were left in the open. The Dark Elves pounced and killed enough of my Chariots to severely weaken my army.

Although neither army reached break point, the Dark Elves won on Victory Points - but it was a close game!

"WORTHLESS MINIONS!"
The main thing was that we both enjoyed the match up and can't wait to play more games!
