proxy ideas: Undead Tomb Kings
« on: August 04, 2013, 01:50:28 PM »
As many of you know, since GW stopped producing 10mm figures, I have started making lists that map warmaster troop types to miniatures that are widely available today and posted them on my blog.

for Undead Tomb Kings here is my list and feel free to either send comments on my blog, or use this thread to suggest improvements, alternatives etc

http://www.athens-fantasy.gr/2013/07/undead-warmaster-with-non-gw-miniatures/

Skeletons
Kallistra Skeleton Warriors (301)
Magister Militum Skeletons with Hand Weapons (FSK001)
Magister Militum Skeletons with Spears (FSK002)

Skeleton Bowmen
Kallistra Skeleton Archers (303)

Skeleton Cavalry
Kallistra Skeleton Cavalry 302

Skeleton Chariots
Kallistra Skeleton Chariots (305)

Carrion
Kallistra Giant Vultures (306)

Bone Giant
Wargods of Aegyptus Tomb Queen Crypt Lord (WGE-129)
Kallistra Zombie Giants (310) – not yet released
Microworld Skeletal mammoth (6mm but perhaps the right size?)
Microworld Bone Giant (6mm but perhaps the right size?)

Sphinx
Wargods of Aegyptus Undead Sphinx (WGE-704)

Skull Chukka
Kallistra Skeleton Ballistae (304)

Bone Thrower
Haven’t found something yet.
You could use any bolt thrower out there and replace its crew with skeletons
e.g.
Kallistra Dark Elf Bolt Throwers (703)

Tomb King General
Kallistra Undead Command (309)

Liche Priest Wizard
Kallistra Undead Command (309)

Zombie Dragon Mount
Microworld Bone Dragon (6mm but could be the right size?)
15mm.co.uk Jabberwock This would be awesome but it might be a bit too large? Looks like it would fit on a warmaster base.

Liche Chariot Mount
Kallistra Skeleton Chariots (305)

I've been invited to a sculpting class by Bomshell Miniatures.  I'm going to focus on 10mm mins.  Which my company will then produce.  I suppose I just need to figure out what to focus on.  I have all the same casting equipment Reaper does... well not their bones equipment, just their metal stuff.  I really really need to revamp my website!

I'm going to use the poll to figure out what to focus on.

Sphinx might well be replaced with a giant scorpion painted as a living statue:

In addition when I start an Undead army, I would use a Games Workshop Ushabti with Great Weapon as my Bone Giant proxy:

Just discovered the Warsphinx comes with THREE little scorpions!

Could work as either a monster unit or a hazard of the sands.

The Games Workshop Dark Eldar Razorwing flock is something I might use to represent Carrion. You get 3 individual models in the pack, one of which is 2 birds connected by a wing.
