Hey how is this project going? :)

I'm looking for some advice, since you're also using SketchUp I thought you might be able to help me out. At the moment I convert the SketchUp files to stl using CADspan, and then I fix the gaps using Netfabb's cloudservice. The problem I'm running into is that more complex models are impossible to repair with Netfabb is I put multiple copies in there. So if I want to do that I'd have to repair one of them, then copy it and try to merge the copies together, which is impossible with the free version of Netfabb.

I'm curious to know what software/plugins you are using to convert your SketchUp files to stl, and more important, what you use to repair your stl files so they can be printed.

Cheers. :)

Stalled for the time being, as that eldar turret has really taken the wind out of my sails. I've also now started work, so my schedule has been turned upside down and then attacked with a shotgun. On a 4-on/4-off rotation, so hopefully my life will stabilise and I'll be able to use the off-days to get stuff done.

I currently don't convert my files to anything and I try to fix my holes by hand. I also do my best not to create holes. Unfortunately a few of Sketchup's quirks make this impossible at times, and this is part of the reason the Eldar turret is causing such a fuss.

The fellow who was to print and cast my models does minor gap-fixing as part of his service at no extra charge, so wondering if I can get away with sending it his way. He also prints from just about any format under the sun, so not too worried about conversions.

Sadly not as yet, as the Eldar turret has brutally murdered my will to continue. I'm also dreading the edits I may need to make to get them printable. On the plus side, I do now have the resources to cast and the money to fund the prints. I'll let you guys know if there's any progress.
