Yes, I know them as "lasquenetes" too (I am from Spain

), and they are one of the most colourful historical armies you can find to paint. I started to build a 1/72 Renaiscence army (plastic manufacturers) years ago, but I moved to WM to get the mass and scale of great battles on the table, along with the WM rules.
We are currently painting and playing some Italian Wars battles (Jchaos left a Pavia battle report somewhere in the forum).
But I also like Fantasy, and the chance to play battles between Renaiscence troops and goblins or skeletons is just great and fun. As you say, Empire is based on XVI century European armies, and the figures are perfect to be used also in WMA. Empire is one of my favourite armies, and I would like to build some "spin-off" armies from its figures: DoW, Witchhunter, Kislev, Conquistadores, ECW, 30YW.... too many things and very little time....
I will choose one and try to join the Tale in December
Saludos!
