The Status of AI?
« on: October 28, 2010, 04:32:25 PM »
Greetings,

I heard that the recent FW seminar at GamesD Day stated that Forgeworld was no longer going to be expanding the AI range/game.  So where does that leave Aeronautica Imperialis?  It is a Forgeworld product, so I am guessing it doesn't belong here, or is this where it will end up; as a Specialist Game?

Any ideas?

There's an AI board on Warseer, but the traffic there is very light. I'm not an AI player myself, so I don't know how much of a player base they have. Considering what they charge for the game I'm guessing that they won't make the rules a free download. Not sure if it counts as a specialist game or not for the purposes of this forum.

Learning from the example of FW's Epic figures, I strongly suggest you buy anything you're eager to buy right away, because in the past they have pulled product lines without notice.

This is another AI forum.

However, a lot of the internet "buzz" around AI seems to have died out back in 2008.   :(

The game seems to have died out, through lack of advertising.  I've started resurecting it at WHW, and I now have 4 (yes 4!) people who play.  I always get a lot of people coming across to see what we are laughing about, while we play.

You're best bet is to get a couple of planes for two factions and play small games with people who may be interested.  I have found that it is a less taxing game, and one that lends itself to relaxing and fun compared to more serious games.

Well my friends who play epic are also interested in playing AI. So we got one Eldar, one Imperial and one ork player. Nice, indeed.
