chaos spell
« on: July 26, 2010, 03:16:36 PM »
I've asked this on another site, and i think it's the right answer. But i'd like a second opinion please, because i think me and my friend have been doing this wrong.  ;) We're half way through a game, and it will come up again (he has 2 sorcerers) We continue our game on tuesday (tmrw)

The spell in question is the Anger of the Gods spell. The question is, does it remain in play and affect any enemy unit coming within its radius.

Our example....... my opponent casts the Anger of the Gods, and my unit is 40cm away from the sorcerer when it's cast. If i give a command to that unit, and move it inside the radius of the spell, is it then affected by the Anger of the Gods spell? is it now a -2 command check (-1 for 2nd cmd, and -1 for the spell)

Or does it only affect the units within 30cm on it's initial casting?

(we've been playing it that the spell remains active, and affects anyone walking into the 30cm radius)

I think that affects any unit within the 30cm, so if they walk in... then it is afected. But is my opinion, lets see what other users play...

We play that it only affects the units inside 30cm when the spell is cast.

We play that it only affects the units inside 30cm when the spell is cast.
I'm hoping it's this way, for the sake of my orcs!   :D This is the only spell he ever casts.

Does seem very powerful if it affects anything going into the radius. Especially with 2 sorcerers that if positioned correctly can screen two 30cm radius areas (so 120cm from one end to the other)

Any unit entering the 30cm Radius of the sorcerer who has been casting succesfully "Anger of the Gods" is affected by it.....it does not matter if it were at the beginning when the spell were cast.

Theses means (to use your example)....

First command to the unit without any penalty as it is outside the 30cm radius.
The unit ends it´s move in the 30cm radius range of the sorcererer.
Secon command get´s minus 2 to be succesfull (-1 for 2nd commande and -1 for being withing the Anger of the Gods radius)....

Hint from my side.....move on the sorcereres place so that your opponent is forced to attach it to a friendly  unit within 30 cm range.

Regards
Claus

Although, on reading it, it does look like it persists :(
