Heya,

here are the reasons why I painted my Corsair Eldar like they are... due Imperial naming convention. They called it a Nightshade because...

inspiration:

model:

inspiration:

model:
Corsair Eldar Solaris Class Light Cruiser - Dras Sha’eil

inspiration:

model:
Corsair Eldar Aurora Class Light Cruiser - Karan Jain

And the Hemlock inspiration:

model:

The Aconite is being refined. A Hellebore model is needed and the Eclipse will feauture Edward Cullen & Bella Swan... j/k still need to see how to get it done. :)

Ah excellent, more finished works from Horizon.  You did a fantastic job of following your inspiration, especially with the flower ones.  I really like the second two's ships as well.  Those are so very well done!

Thanks! A Lot!

Stormwind, first time I tried such bases, worked pretty good I think.

Ironpainter, cool comment. The Eldar ship did not make it into to GothiComp finals :(
But most comments I heard are: 'it is awesome!'. yet, most people did not vote on it. I guess the colour scheme turned it into a hate it or love it vessel. Or the other entries are even better!

Same to Tau fleet, no final place. Is it the striking orange?

Curious as to why you did not enter the solaris?  It looks very nice.  Perhaps a close-up picture?  Would like to see some of the detail.

As for the Tau fleet, its great.  Not sure why it didn't get more votes, but I like it. IMO its much more important that you are happy with it than what other people think.  What's best is you can clearly see the improvement from your earlier work to this beautiful fleet.

Hey CF,

thanks! Yeah, I am very happy with how the latest ships are turning out (starting with the Nightshades). The Tombship I am least happy with, it didn't get the 'whoa' effect I wanted. I think I'll need another shot at it and just be daring and bold. Aceton can fix it if it doesn't work. haha

I didn't enter the Solaris because it was already shown on the internet and I wanted to show new works only. I think the Solaris has better work on the inner sails then the Aurora, but the green on the Aurora is slightly better quality in painting. imo

I shall see if I have some close ups of the Solaris.

edit: I added the Hemlock to the 'inspirations'.

Awesome paint jobs!

My only comment is that bright orange is a high risk, "marmite" choice (i.e. they'll love it or hate it!)
A deep, bright yellow may have been less risky?

Saying that, I like it and who cares about competitions anyway, hours of playing on the tabletop is where the real enjoyment of nice paint jobs is at!

Yah, orange is indeed high risk. As intended. I like it. :)
