B5A Blister packs question
« on: February 09, 2011, 08:38:25 PM »
I just mail ordered some Battle of Five Armies blister packs, and when they arrived, I was surprised to see that the Elven Cavalry was short some figures. Now I'm checking the other packs and want to be sure I got what I paid for...

Elven Cavalry: Received three strips of cavalry, including the leader strip, for a total of 6 figures (rather than six strips and 12 total figures). I know this is wrong.

Spiders of Mirkwood: I received 9 individual spiders. I don't know if this is the right number, but it would mean 3 per strip.

Gigantic Bats: I received three columns of bat swarms (ie one per strip).

Each blister still had three bases on sprue, but I'm wondering now if either the retailer tried to take me for a ride or was themselves robbed in the past and now accidentally sold me incomplete blisters. Either way, before I contact them I want to be 100% sure of which packs are short.

Just out of curiosity - where did you order them from? I think I have an idea (Merlyn's in Spokane, WA) and saw the blisters on the shelf at one point. They should have 6 strips if my information is correct with a total of 12 figures - I almost grabbed them myself but saw that there were some figures missing from the Elven Cavalry and the other two were not of interest.

As far as I know:

Elven calvalry: has 6 strips (I had the unit in original blister so I am sure of that)

Spiders: I do not know

Gigantic bats: has 3 columns of bats (as far as I know)

... but I am quite surprise because I think this range is out of product. If it is not, please could you tell us which GW store (country) do you buy them.

I recomend to make a reclamation of your elven cavalry order

Many thanks, everyone for the advice and information. I think I'll end up having to return the elven cavalry (a pain and kind of sad but it's half missing so there's nothing to be done).

To answer MiniPatton's question, you are absolutely correct: Merlyn's in Spokane, WA. These were their last blister packs. It was a real find since it's hard to find B5A blister packs these days-- but since demand is pretty low also, it was probably a good deal for them as well.
