Rules Version - New Campaign
« on: March 29, 2011, 03:47:26 PM »
Hello all

Me and a few friends are planning on starting a necromunda campaign in the next few weeks. We have all played the first edition of the rules about 6-7 years ago but have only just started to get back into the game. Our problem now is that we are unsure what edition of the rules to use. I own a coppy of the origonal hardback compendium but have also read the latest rules on the GW specialist games page as well as the community edition rule set. Out of all of them it is most likley going to be between the latest version or the community edition (due to the infinitely availability of them). Can anyone point me in the right direction / offer their oppinions on the matter?

Many thanks,
vreetech

Haven't tried the community edition yet (really need to send a link to my clubmates), but if I had to choose between 1st edition and 2nd edition, it's first hands down.
Galak 3:16 says "There is a point in time that a player really should read the rulebook."

I'm with Darkson.  If you have the choice, play 1st.  It is more complete.  I generally play hybrid versions, as people have their preferences, and it tends to work quite well. Ultimately, I have a small piece of paper stuck in my hardback with the rules for High Impact - all the benefits of 2nd in the 1st edition package.
