Thanks Matt!

Thanks to all who braved the snow to come and play!  It was a blast!  This was an awesome bunch of guys to play against, both friendly and funny.

The snow slowed things down a bit.  Due to late arrivals, we started closer to 10:30 than 9:30.  I sat out the first round, as we had 7 people playing.  I took the opportunity to take pictures.

Here are the brave lads who took to the field of battle:

From left to right:  Chris (catching a quick cat nap before the day's slaughter), Matt, Chris O, Larry, Tristan, Dave.

Tristan brought Larry, who is new to Warmaster.  As a matter of fact, I think this was Larry's first time playing!  Larry's Chaos faced Chris O's Vampire Counts in the first round.  When the game was called, it looked like Chaos would have prevailed.

Tristan (Empire) faced Dave (High Elves).  Dave's Elves just weren't taking orders from anyone.  Despite that, the battle did not go all Tristan's way.

Matt (Dogs of War) faced off against Chris (Dwarves) in the first round.  The Dogs must have had some terrible hangovers or gotten ill on curried suig, because they stopped responding to orders.  This allowed the highly disiplined Dwarves to close in to terrible effect.

After some excellent pizza for lunch, the second and final round commenced.  Chris O and Matt squared off against me.  I played two armies, Daemons and Chaos.  Gary, the store owner, graciously let us stay past closing in order to finish the battle.  Chris O's Vampire Counts took huge bites out of the Daemon army.  By the end of the game, the Daemons were fighting back, bringing the Vampires to within one stand of their break point.  Matt's Dogs of War tied up and took down some of the Chaos army, but were routed off the field when the Chaos army pulled off a combat against pikes on a hill.

More pictures can be seen in my PhotoBucket album:

Dave's Elves looked awesome!  Now I want to try making my own decals!

Tristan's work on the Chaos army Larry used and his Empire army was inspiring.  Take a look at the photos in the album to see some good stuff!

Thanks again to one and all who came!  It was a blast!
