I too, have been wondering where all these bastards are who keep out bidding me on relatively common blisters. =-/

I've bid on things that then go for more than what they cost on GW.  And I mean, the founding 6 races like Marauder horsemen or Dwarf Rangers.  It's baffling.  It's no wonder then that the actually rare blisters for +£100

Not looking for records, just to recoup my outlay.

As for prices going up, a lot of these items have been OOP for years.
Kislev went OOP just as I was starting and I couldn't afford to buy them at the time.
Shame, as it would fund a very good standard of living with these values :)

The bidding does appear to be a bit mental (technical term) at the moment regarding rare stuff. I suspect that it is just two or three new guys with deep pockets going all out to win?

I'm just glad I picked up nearly everything I'd ever want for Warmaster back in the old days!
Anyway, good luck to you Mick, I hope you get a grand out of it all!

Things really only started getting crazy in the last 2 months or so. When I started in January of this year things were not as unpredictable as they are currently.  ???

I guess that this sort of money isn't really a large sum to lots of collectors and as Mick says, they're long oop. And they are lovely figures too.

I carefully follow prices by filling a database of all oop i can see on ebay. I confirm there is a sudden explosion for the last three month. Don't know why... Maybe, as said, one or two person suddenly decided to buy any oop they could ?

Last year, we noticed for the first time a unit went for more than 100€. I remember, they where dragon princes. Maybe north marauders went for such a price but that was all. Now, any oop is usually over 60$, and the rare of them are all above 100. Some go for mad prices (hammerers...). I can't imagine the price when something like a savage orc unit will be spoted on ebay. We just never saw it for years.

Siege tower, my dear, i may have some old bofa stuff i will gladly propose you for a much more decent price if you want. I'm happy to help in your return amongs us.

This is not entirely true. There are exceptions at times but i am still picking up Kislev stuff at reasonable prices. Most i have paid is $45 AUD for a Kislev wagon.

Lets not make it more than it is. Good luck for the OP definitely, but certainly not the norm.

Yep, there are always exceptions. Panther knights went for a very low price recently, and kislev stuff sold unit per unit too last week. But the kislev army sold by azrael went for a high one.

Low prices where normal few months ago. Now, they are the exception.

:)

We will have to agree to disagree on that point then.

Be aware that people's interests in selling miniatures means that they have a vested interest in hiking the price up. You yourself no doubt are looking to sell your miniatures at a good price so everything in perspective right?

Me and Marell normally disagree about this subject  :o, BUT, if you have followed the prices of OOP stuff for as long as we both have you will have seen the prices steadily rise.

The last lot of Kislev stuff did go cheaper than normal, apart from the bears at £60 a unit, but then we have seen smaller armies than the one I have for sale go for more than it is currently at.
The thing with auction sites is that the market dictates the final price. I know there are a few people interested in it, but did not have the funds available at this time. So, at the end of the day, people will pay what THEY think is a fair price.

The thing about Kislev is that you can proxy historical units (as I discovered by making a topic asking about it) for most of the units, even something approximating a war wagon.... but the characters and bears are really irreplaceable, so they are the most expensive to buy now.

Whilst that is true, some people, myself included prefer to own the originals :)

The intersting conundrum for anyone looking to "invest" in oop warmaster is that surely, by now, most of the established 'hard core' warmaster players will have most of what they want by now? I, for instance have everything I could possibly want except one unit of Chaos Norse and 2 units of Knights errant. This means that unless new people with deep pockets keep entering the hobby, faster than older players are leaving, the oop will drop in price?

Caution: Your investment may go down as well as up :)

I just buy what I want because I'm going to enjoy painting and playing with them!
