Thanks everyone for the comments; much appreciated by both me and my son. He came up with the conversion ideas and hunted down the alternate miniatures. He then did the block colour painting and I did the fine detail. He also did the hard work of filing and pinning while I did anything fiddly or with green stuff. The army was a good one for a beginner because the minis are fairly large for painting and the high points value meant the financial outlay wasn’t huge.
Starting from the left, the Yhetees are Copplestone 15mm Snow Trolls. No conversion work needed.
Butcher #1 is GW Dragon Ogre torso with normal GW Ogre legs plus boar from the O&G character blister.
Slave Giant is normal GW giant plus picture wire covered with superglue for the noose.
Bruiser has candle from Araby character and has been dubbed ‘Elton’ (candle in the wind).
Bull Ogres are normal GW but we decided on 2 per stand to reduce financial cost and so added in plenty of rocks.
Leadbelchers are GW Ogres with assorted Empire cannons (including a couple of spare bombards). Cut off arms. Pinned cannon to body. Drilled through their shoulders. Inserted paper clip and shaped into arm positions and then green stuffed the arms and hands.
Gnoblars are standard GW Goblins.
Gorgers are Magister Militum 15mm Hill trolls minus their horns. One with a weapon added.
Bruiser is on a Copplestone 15mm Cave Bear.
Rhinox riders are GW Ogres mounted on Eureka Woolly Rhinos.
Butcher #2 is GW Dragon Ogre torso with normal GW Ogre legs plus skull pot from O&G character blister and a bigger cauldron from a random bit of plastic that we roughed up and added a spare axe head.
Tyrant is a Dragon Ogre torso with normal Ogre legs on a O&G character blister chariot with Eureka Woolly Rhinos providing motive power. See attached picture for his pet bear!
On the production line we have an ironblaster and a War Mammoth (Eureka Mammupach) with rider.
We have more pictures, so if you want to see something specific, please ask.
