60 pounds is a good price for what is on offer.

Count me in. I would be buying in the new year however, not this year.

That's ok, it would take until the new year to get them all sculpted and cast up in any case.

Nice start.

Please specify - do you make a 3D model and then printing/moulding/casting? Or sculpting with your fingers?
In both cases I would advice to adjust your ogre test model a bit (no offence - this has to be made before moulding).

I make a 3d model first and cast from that.

The test sculpt is WIP, to find if there's interest. Those who know me know what kind of quality to expect from finished models.

I'm not particularly interested in an ogre army, but I'll buy a set to support this kind of thing.

They look great! Ogres are a good choice because they can be used in several armies of course. If it goes well, it shouldn't be too difficult for you to make chaos variants.

I'm in, I expect that anyone buying an army would need to invest a little more than the £60 to get a playable 2000 point army so you could likely expect a quicker return. If you PM someone who gets onto the French and Spanish forums you might get more interest too (Vincent and jchaos spring to mind).

If people wanted to purchase more than the minimum commitment of £60 I'd of course be very grateful.

£60x10 (£600) is simply a number that sits within reach of breaking even on the project (i think the real break even would be more like £800 but I'd be willing to risk it if the first 600 were covered).

I'm in. I may even buy a second batch if the first one lives up to expectations, upon delivery.
If you did wave 2 I'd definitely be in for one of those too.

I've seen your epic stuff and if the quality is anywhere near as good as that stuff, it'll be great.

I'm in....

Just let me know where to send the money and when.  And it would probably more than just the basic, initial "commitment".

Are you planning on including standard bearers and muscians in the infantry units and other units?  I would hate having to buy multiple Character sets just to get standard bearers.

Lex might mean this:

http://wm-selector.appspot.com/army_selector.html?list=ogrekingdoms

Using that, I'd imagine the following would be a fairly common first purchase from your first wave of models (using goblins as Gnoblars until some sort of generic hill goblin might be made):

Warmaster Army Selector
Ogre Kingdoms Army, 1985 points
Warmaster Trial Armies Compendium 2009
----------------------------------------------------------------
 440 -  4 Bull Ogres
 220 -  2 Leadbelchers
 290 -  2 Ironguts
 240 -  8 Gnoblars
 500 -  2 Rhinox Riders
 125 -  1 Tyrant
  80 -  1 Bruiser
  90 -  1 Butcher
----------------------------------------------------------------
1985 - 18/9

I can't commit for certain, though I'd likely get some in the next 12 months if they became available.

Just let me know where to send the money and when.
If we reach ten pledges, I'll announce here when they're released. They'll be available through my webstore.

My plan was to have the various banner bearers in the Character set, yes.
This is because otherwise I'd need two moulds for each set (one mould for the standard troops, and one mould for the banner bearers / command group). That'd double my costs and require more like 20 pledges instead of 10!

So the cost efficient way to do it is to have a single "characters & command groups" set that can be used with a variety of different sets.

Assuming 12 characters, a mix like the following:

- Army Commander Ogre
- Commander Ogre
- Wizard Ogre
- Ogre Banner Bearer
- Ogre Banner Bearer
- Ogre Banner Bearer
- Armoured Ogre Banner Bearer
- Armoured Ogre Banner Bearer
- Ogre Cavalry Banner Bearer
- Ogre Cavalry Banner Bearer
- Lesser Goblin Banner Bearer (thinking ahead)
- Lesser Goblin Banner Bearer

How does that mix sound?
1 or 2 sets would provide for most full army compositions I should think?

In terms of characters, it would be great if a single pack could cope with an average army. So, keeping things to 12, I'd consider

Army Commander Ogre
2 x - Commander Ogre
1 x - Wizard Ogre
4 x - Ogre Banner Bearer
2 x  Armoured Ogre Banner Bearer
2 x Ogre Cavalry Banner Bearer

The Hill Goblins could perhaps come on the strip (if you do strips) or could be ignored altogether (they're so insignificant that they might not need one anyway).

That's just my perspective though. Perhaps someone who uses Ogres already might have a better sense of army composition. And, I'm not totally convinced by my logic here, perhaps variety is better and we can buy two packs (in which case the more the merrier and then a firebreathing Ogre would be nice too).
