Oh wow! That's interesting.  I imagine that a lot of odds and ends on eBay must come from ex-GW staff, then.

Secumdary benifits and a good way to set up a retirment fund....

The prices for the Heroquest games and expansions are both outrageous and ridiculous.  It makes me so happy that I have the original games.  Nobody should entertain paying those prices for Heroquest stuff.  It may be valuable, but it's not that valuable.

To be honest: I like watching specialist games stuff on ebay.

Sometimes prices are reasonable. Thats ok. Sometimes reasonable enough that you can buy stuff. But often people just go nuts.

Its fun to watch how someone out there tries to sell something "RAR" or "PRO PAINTED" for a year or even longer. In the most cases, these people wait at least 8-9 month before they start to reduce the price by 5 euro or something like that.

It gets even better when someone buys a large collection and tries to sell all components piece by piece for profit afterwards...and they keep sitting on them for years.

Or when people try to make money from stuff honest sellers just send as bonus, stuff like self made markers made from cardboard or similar stuff every player already has made for himself. Watching people try to make money out of stuff wich doesn't cost anything can be fun.

So eBay UK has just closed out on 3x BOFA Elven cavalry for c£72 + P&P.

These are as we know, very rare with the odd chancer sitting on a pack and asking £99.99 month in month out.

I was in that race, just needed 1 pack to make a brigade and would have sold the other two on.

No such luck, too rich for me, then tonight someone’s put on a set of two, after months of nothing. I just don’t get why people don’t put units like this up as singles. Anyway seems I’m in another buy two sell one race?

Has anyone else noticed that bog standard "common" Warmaster blisters or loose metals have been creeping up to silly prices on eBay?

I'm just trying to get a couple of folks into Warmaster in a new area; one fellow is interested in Empire but I don't have enough spares for him to make an army out of them.  Just looked on ebay, £30 for the General on Gryphon?

I haven't been looking in a while- is that just 'buy it now' prices, or actual auctions?
Most 'buy it now' people are dreaming- I assume they're either very hopeful, or have just been told warmaster is rare and not looked into details.

Yeah, i agree with Geep. Those BuyItNow unit just never sell. They are relisted again and again. Don't watch them. Those sellers just don't take time to study the market. Standard auctions fo for far less than that.

wow. I'd love to get the hero quest expansions, but this is the reason it won't ever happen!

This is why I'm so glad that I purchased all the Heroquest expansions that were released in the UK when they came out.  Trying to buy them now would be a nightmare.

Here's a curiousity... Was this the off brand non GW Heroquest project that seems to be stuck in limbo?
