Movies that inspire us to play Mordheim
« on: June 07, 2013, 07:46:52 AM »
I like to get your ideas on movies that inspire you to play Mordheim. Mainly from the city of the damned itself. So I'm looking for urban fantasy and such.

Here are some of mine...

1) Alatriste: For anyone who plays with the Empire style warbands, this is a movie for you. Takes place in spain in the 1600's. This has the best feel for Mordheim I have seen yet (also great for Warhammer Empire players). It has great action and battles, sword fights, black podwer weapons, great cannons, puffy shirts. Great urban buildings, cobble stones, bridges, back alley duels. It even has a bit of witch hunter stuff in it. Warning: its not for kids. Has some sex and nudity

2) A Knight's Tale: Mainly for when they reach London and Paris.  Great ideas for Mordheim buildings

3) Black Adder (series 1 and 2): I know these are not movies but they help me think of Mordhiem. I love the show where there is an actual witch hunter and Black Adder is accused of being a witch.

4) The Pit and the Pendulum (1991): a great old horror movie. Set in Spain 1492. So another great movie for ideas for Empire style Warband. Plus a lot of good ideas for Witch Hunters as well. Great urban buildings and towers. Warning: not for kids (it is a horror movie...) With some torturing and killing
