Good print. Still aren't a fan of the pointy thing on the prow but the models looks sharp.

Seems that Vanguard Miniatures/Battlegroup Helios are planning to do a crowdfunder to get some of my ship designs in production. In case you haven't checked Battlegroup Helios' latest post, here it is:

Quote
Funding Campaign
I have received quotes to have a whole bunch 16 ships moulded and cast in resin, this is going to cost me around 3 to 3.5k to get manufactured.
Question, would you guys be willing to support a funding campaign on Indiegogo or kickstarter to see all these ships financed and released in store after all pledges have been shipped of course?
Personally I would prefer to use the Indiegogo platform, I've used it before and its fairly straight forward to work with, plus everyone can see exactly what items are funding. Also it functions more like a pre-order than the kickstarter set up does which can get quite complicated at times. With Indiegogo there is no messing about with all that "what do you want for your pledge level" nonsense at the end of the campaign as everyone has made their purchase choices at the time they pledged.
Ships would be:
Panthera II
Lynx, both variants
Assault frigate
Assault destroyer
Heavy cargo ship
2 medium escorts
Zeus pattern cruiser
Zeus pattern light cruiser
Zeus pattern frigate
Spear prows
Cybershadow light cruiser
4 Tainted escorts

I see that some of the models are new molds for old pewter miniatures, right?

The Panthera and Lynx were originally in metal, these will now be done in resin. The assault frigate, assault destroyer, heavy cargo ship, medium escorts, Cybershadows light cruiser, and four (of which two are interchangeable modular kits) Tainted escorts are completely new. The Zeus ships and spear prows were previously sold through Resin Addicts.

I've a distinct feeling that vanguard will be dropping all it's bfg proxies even sooner than I thought... :|

Who knows what will follow...

Some ships for the Eloi would indeed be pretty sweet. Sadly enough I really suck when it comes to organic shapes. Perhaps John can find another designer to tackle them. :)

In the meantime...

The walls allow for all sorts of bits to be crammed in them:

So whilst the tiles themselves are pretty set and standard, I have been making a wide array of possible wall setups:

I'd also like to develop theme based bits...

Library:

The library kit current consists of 4 wall bits (each containing different stacks of books) and a cogitator bank. I'd probably would like to add some separate piles of books that have been dropped on the ground.

Sickbay:

This kit currently consists of a med-bed, cogitator bank, and locker. I'd like to add another wall panel with a surgical servo arm mounted on it, and maybe another bed variant that has some sort of MRI scan device on it. I'm still in doubt whether I should do the bodies of the patients separately or as part of the bed.

For a moment I thought you were printing a BFG ship in 28mm scale or something there with all the crewmen!  You'd need planning permission to start doing that ha ha.

Nice!
I think you should shorten the pointy things on the prow by a lot. Maybe even flat to be honest (with some greebling).

Yeah, I'm a bit in doubt about the pointy things, wanted to have some antennae protruding, but not fully sure how to pull it off. Might just drop them altogether.
