[BFG] My Chaos Fleet
« on: September 06, 2013, 04:33:28 AM »
Hi all, new member here. I painted a lot of GW forces back in the late 90's and early 2000's but lately my painting has just been mini's for boardgames like Runewars and War of the Ring.

I just wanted to show off my old GW stuff from back in the day to prospective buyers as I plan on selling it off force by force on Ebay soon. I have large Chaos and Ork fleets for BFG as well as High Elves and Orcs for WM and huge forces of Eldar and Orks for Space Marine. WHFB Chaos Dwarfs have long since been sold as well as Mordheim. I never painted 40K

Here is the Chaos BFG Fleet to start. I MAY get this listed as early as tomorrow night. When I do, I'll post a link to the auction.

The Flagship

The Grand Cruiser

The entire fleet

I really like your BFG Chaos but I immediately loved your WM elves and Orcs! The painting is so old school it brought back so many memories!

Do you have more to show us? please?

Thanks, that's very kind! I don't have any more pics for the moment. I should within the next 2 weeks or so.

What do you mean by old school? Have there been a lot of changes that I missed? I've experimented with quick base coats and dips on some Tide of Iron minis. I liked the result and will probably use it again at some point, but not on anything I'm painting right now.

You might start with putting stuff in the Trade forum here, and end up with a buyer that will take good are of your stuff. Alternatively, I am tempting to suggest to avoid the Bay of Evil and wait for a couple of more weeks when Tor Games will have their miniature Bids site up and running......    and do away with the ridiculous overhead for the seller

Chaos has also been selling fairly low recently, I picked up 3 battleships and 10 cruisers for £70. I'd wait a while before trying to sell on ebay.

How are BFG Orks selling lately? My Ork fleet is about as big as the Chaos fleet, points wise. 4 Killcruisers, 2 of the other cruisers (with all the ordnance). A crap ton of escorts including 12 brute ramships. 24 stands of FightaBommas hand carved from skulpy and baked in the oven. That's 72 little bitty ships that I tried to make look unique to reflect the tastes of the individual mekboyz that built them!

Lex, I'm banging my head trying to remember where I know you from. Were you on Gene's Yahoo Warmaster page in the late 90's? Where else online have you been a regular in the last 15 years?!  :D

Here and there   8)   I have been "in" on Warmaster from the late 90's, moderated for several gaming related Yahoo groups, worked with Rick on some of the additional armies, BoFA and WMA. Organized a spot of EuroGT's and been the main Admin on the incarnations of the Specialist Games forum for longer then I care to remember!

Honestly don't know how well orks sell, as I don't have any and haven't been keeping an eye on them.

How about Warmaster Forgeworld terrain? I've got 2 of the Orc Village sets, 1 Orc boss hut, and a stone bridge; all unpainted and in original boxes. I picked them up at Gamesday 2001 in Baltimore, MD and never got around to painting them.

I've been looking periodically on Ebay now for a few weeks and haven't seen any listed. How am I supposed to get an idea of what they're worth if no one is selling any? :P

Don't know about Warmaster, not something I follow.

I've also found something somewhat scary. Not two weeks ago I picked up 10 Chaos cruisers at £20 for the lot. Now there's bunches of cruisers at £16 for 2, and even this little gem:

3 Chaos Cruisers, £41.

Chaos Cruisers are the only models left on the US web site....
