Thank you everyone!

Ok, I decided to take the plunge, and put something up for sale on Shapeways; it’s not much for now, but I’ll add more stuff soon!

Now, since my posts are pointless without pictures, here’s something I’ve been working on lately, a reimagined Iconoclast.

I know it’s a bit fat, but it’s only 3cm long! (ok, that sounded better in my head…)

What do you guys think? Should I make it thinner?

maybe a little thinner, or prehaps a little longer to offset the width

That makes me sad, as the Iconoclast is one of those ships that I've just always loved; it had that nice dreadnought feel to it. =[
Quite crucial to be able to tell minefields and rally points apart...

By the way, how big is the hole in the ship for the base pole?

By the way, how big is the hole in the ship for the base pole?

The hole is 2mm wide, with another mm of space on all sides to make way for the standard flying base peg...

That makes me sad, as the Iconoclast is one of those ships that I've just always loved; it had that nice dreadnought feel to it. =[

I'm sorry about that! I didn't want to upset you!

I'm planning to do another version, more faithful to the original...

To keep your morale up, here's some more pictures!

To carry on with my theme of "I have no hope of taking a good picture of this model but I'll try anyway", here's the latest model I painted: a demiurg frigate!

I know it's stretching the background a bit, but I wanted to try it! I'm planning to use them as xenos vessels in a rogue trader fleet, but I suppose they could also be used as nicassar dhows!

Here we go! I followed your suggestion, and thinned it a bit; here's the comparison, old to the left and new to the right.

I think it looks better now, what do you guys think?

Thank you everyone! I may look into making some flares compatible with the standard Imperial cruiser available, if you wish!

Now, I apologize with everyone for the absence, but I have bad news and good news: the bad news is that I missed these last days, due to (unforseeingly) losing half of my job; the mildly good news is that I can do part of the other half at home, so I'll be able to use some saved travel time to work on some 3d models!

Now onto some pictures, to avoid being all doom and gloom!

Let's talk chaos frigates; first, the torpedo frigate! Since the background says that the falchion is built trying to copy it, I tried to give it a two pronged prow, as well...

Secondly, the lance frigate! I tried to give it a strange looking bridge, to account for the xenos targeting system it's supposed to have...

And finally, a group photo of the three chaos frigates!

Now I have a question for you guys: since the shapeways store has been a complete failure, does anyone know of a good resin caster, here in Italy or in southern\central Europe?

Cheers guys!

Hmm, like I told you on Tactical Wargames, try to here and here hollow the models out (further) if possible. Also, you want to extend the reach of your page, I suggest posting about it in the rumours sections of DakkaDakka and also open a modeling thread on Warseer. Not meaning to specifically promote these sites now, it's just that they have way larger communities. I think most people who post here and also on Tactical Wargames and most likely also on Resin Addicts.

If you do decide to fully stop adding models to the shop, don't close it though. The stuff that is still there might sell a bit, even if you've given up on them.

However, if you could find a caster who's also willing to distribute the models, you've got yourself a chance to making some nice money. Maybe not as much as those companies who sell Space Marines bits, but still...

That's no lance... that's a nova cannon! Or at least, it's what the nova cannon is supposed to look like, GW laziness notwithstanding.

I'll take that as a compliment! :D

I've always liked the idea of an escort built around a huge laser cannon...
