looking for dwarf crew models
« on: October 18, 2014, 11:54:59 PM »
As Empireaddict pointed out to me the other day the dwarf flame cannon crew make excellent basis to work from when creating miners for the younger holds list....

Does anyone have any spare? Flame cannon crew preferred however will consider any normal cannon crew as well as rangers brandishing crossbows!

Just have cash at the moment, nothing to trade

I need enough for 3 stands, so around 12-15 models but anything would be very helpful!

I can't help you with the models, but I'm curious about the idea- do you have an example where this has been done, or plans of some kind?

I'm told that it's been done although I'm not sure by whom, most likely someone in the UK community (or someone at the playtest weekend last november)

the basic idea is that the flame cannon crew already have very miner-looking helmets and one is toting a big shovel, my idea would be to snip off the tips of the artillery kit they're carrying and add some GS-sculpted mattock/pick heads, the rangers who are waving their crossbows around need very slight modification to turn the crossbow into a pick, and a miner helmet sculpting on

I'm thinking 4-5 a base with plenty of rocks and scenery will be enough to work well as a scouting force tunneling up behind enemy lines

Those 3 crew are easily "converted"

1 stands with a cup and a lighterdevice, used as is, just colour the stik underneath the flame a nice red and he holds a stick of dynamite OR sbip the flamce (carefully, as you want to put it ON his helmet!) and model a pick

2 the middle one is standing with his hands in front of him, at app chin level. Simply put a small piece of ron under there to have him shoveling.

3} the 3th holds a shovel and some rock on it (I assume his is fueling coal into the flamcecannon
