6mm IG Proxies
« on: December 10, 2014, 05:11:10 PM »
Does anyone know if there are any really good detailed metal 6mm figures that would proxy as Imperial Guard Cadians?

The old Blue Werewolf range showcased on Kyussinchain's blog would have been perfect but I only found out about these after they stopped selling them! :(

Thanks!

I have recently bought a pile of Evil and Chaos' bases from this site as I saw them on the Onslought miniatures web site whilst purchasing a Dark Eldar army from them but didn't really stop to look at the figures. These will make excellent stormtrooper proxies.

He has winter infantry about to go for general sale that would work for DKoK as well.

Check out Solar Empire Marines from c&c for some more nice infantry. Probably the best cast in the business.

Wow, the force is definitely strong with that collection!
Very creative.

At least two and possibly three of us from our little group in the North West of England are going to be getting back into Epic Armageddon in 2015. I've already got a Dark Angels army which I'm in the process of basing/re-basing onto round bases this Christmas (from the ones that Troublemaker games does).

I've bought some Dark Eldar (Onslaught Miniatures) and will just use them as Eldar using the 'counts as' rule. I think I'm going to pay to have these painted by someone else. (Any takers if you can do a very high level?) :)

I am also slowly building up an IG collection from E-Bay. I've been rooting on the web and as one of my friends already has the IG, I've decided to do mine as 'Blood Pact' Traitor Guard. I will use the IG list and just use the 'counts as' rule. I'm going to paint these up myself over 2015 though. I've bought some Forgeworld Brass chaos icons which I will stick to some of the vehicles and I'm going to raid a friends 40K chaos bitz box to see if there are any other bits I can use to 'chaos-ify' the vehicles.

The aim is that by this time next year we will have Eldar, Orcs, Tau and IG (other players) and I will have Marines, Traitor Guard and Dark Eldar.

Sorry, I missed this in the Christmas madness. I look forward to see how your plans work out.

Cheers for the link.
Things are progressing well. I've nearly finished re basing 10K of Epic Dark Angels (puff, pant , wheeze) and am now starting to paint up my Warlord Titan. Looking to acquire some Imperial Navy support off evil bay next. Then that'll be the Astartes done. Played 2 games with them so far using EA and am getting back into the rules. I have 4 or 5 friends who are showing interest and pledging to buy armies (or dust off old ones).

Then the big project for me for 2015 is a 6K Traitor Guard army (Blood Pact). Been slowly acquiring what I 'need' from e bay and trades with friends.

Thanks for the link - yes, I am now aware of Trouble Maker Games' latest Kickstarter. Very nice!

Progress report: There are now 5 of us in our group who have all got back into Epic Armageddon. Between us we now cover all the main armies. We've played about 20 games to date and everyone is enjoying themselves.

I have about 8K of Dark Angels painted (from the old days) and (more recently) re-based onto Troublemaker games' round bases.
I have about 6K of Nids, half of which I've now painted. I've built and based the rest.
I have about 6K of Dark Eldar from Onslaught (Patiently sitting in a box)
I have about 6K of Imperial Guard which I am slowly "Corrupting" into Chaos Traitor Guard by modelling and adding spikes, brass etchings from Forgeworld and so on....

They look really good.  I can see the potential for making quite a few trenches with gun towers or fortified outposts using those.

Oooh. They look nice.

Up date: I've painted up around 2K of nids, finished the marines and the titans.
Built and done some modelling on half of the IG traitor stuff but then stalled.

Back on warmaster stuff now: Painting up more chaos and vampire counts...

But I will return to Epic later in the year.
